I am a newcomer in PE and I am reading carefully everything regarding the beginner's routine.
In my opinion, warm up is a very important aspect: so, I decided to investigate a little more the use of infrared radiation in PE workouts.
I have found interesting materials on the web: the following tense (from the web site of one of the major firm that produces infrared appliances) is crucial for our goals:
"When infrared rays penetrate the skin, they cause a thermal reaction that elevates tissue temperatures. The human body responds to this by dilating all the blood vessels and increasing the flow of blood. The greater flow of blood enables metabolic products and any impurities to be removed rapidly, while the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the area increases. This relieves pain and leaves tissues feeling revitalised."
It seems that infrared are beneficial both for the warm up (i.e. to avoid injury) and for the tissues growing that it is definitely the ultimate purpouse of PE routine.
What are your opinion about this ?
Best regards to everybody (and excuse me for my english).
