Nice! I want to shoot it! One comment said it kicks like a .38 ???? Up here in the Carolinas, availability and prices on ammo is crazy:eek:

It has a lighter kick than what you'd expect from a piece like that.

Vermont State Rep. Fred Maslack has read the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, as well as Vermont 's own Constitution very carefully, and his strict interpretation of these documents is popping some eyeballs in New England and elsewhere.

Maslack recently proposed a bill to register "non-gun-owners" and require them to pay a $500 fee to the state. Thus Vermont would become the first state to require a permit for the luxury of going about unarmed and assess a fee of $500 for the privilege of not owning a gun

Maslack read the "militia" phrase of the Second Amendment as not only affirming the right of the individual citizen to bear arms, but as a clear mandate to do so. He believes that universal gun ownership was advocated by the Framers of the Constitution as an antidote to a "monopoly of force" by the government as well as criminals

Vermont 's constitution states explicitly that "the people have a right to bear arms for the defense of themselves and the State" and those persons who are "conscientiously scrupulous of bearing arms" shall be required to "pay such equivalent." Clearly, says Maslack, Vermonters have a constitutional obligation to arm themselves, so that they are capable of responding to "any situation that may arise."

Under the bill, adults who choose not to own a firearm would be required to register their name, address, Social Security Number, and driver's license number with the state. "There is a legitimate government interest in knowing who is not prepared to defend the state should they be asked to do so," Maslack says

Vermont already boasts a high rate of gun ownership along with the least restrictive laws of any state. It’s currently the only state that allows a citizen to carry a concealed firearm without a permit. This combination of plenty of guns and few laws regulating them has resulted in a crime rate that is the third lowest in the nation

"America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards."

Well JP, that was totally opposite of what I expected. Actually being fined for not having a gun? I got to start paying more attention to Vermont.....

According to a ammo rep, the military demand has effected ammo quantities? Funny that happened around or before the election? That may of had an affect, but its mostly been because of citizens stocking up(imo). I think it was his personal opinion on the matter, and not fact.

I saw last year where the military is scrapping it empty cases instead of reloading them and it has put some companies in a pinch. They are shreading the brass and selling it to China for less than half of what the reloading companies will pay for the empties.

Yeah, that makes sense...

Ammo would have been a damn good investment. Almost double your money back on ebay today!

Yes HT. I saw the same thing and I thought WTF? When you fire a round, it "Sizes" or fire sizes and the casing is easier to re-load and works more efficiently in the weapon. You can re-load a brass casing about 10 times, then let China have them.

Talkin my business now men. Actually China was forcing scrap prices up strongly until our government decided to "ROB" everyone again and falsely inflated the dollar, which immediately caused China to cancel all orders. They had some contracts in place that are still being honored but just enough to fill the raw material shortfall they experienced. They are no longer stockpiling at this moment. There are entities here in the states paying as much as 5 times scrap value for expended brass casings, I myself think it is the ammo companies themselves.

Quote from the late great Carlos Hathcock, GySgt USMC.

"What kind of ammo do I shoot? Hell, I don't know, I just shoot what they give me."

Our local Wally World doesn't even bother to take the ammo out of the carts, it sells so fast. Since the election nation wide guns sales of all kinds (sorry folks have to include rifles, pistols and shotguns) are up 30% and hand gun permit apps up 41%.

Frustrating as hell seeing all of this going on. These people are attacking on so many different fronts right now, that it makes your head swim trying to keep up with it all. I'm sure that was the whole idea in the first place. I have guns that were handed down for generations. They are gonna play hell getting mine!

On the Wikipedia site, scroll down to #3, motor racing. I had never seen this site, didn't think to ever check his bio, until you mentioned if I had pictures. Pretty cool.
