The joke is, you know it is big, but it doesn't look big. If it doesn't look big, then how can it be big? That is the circular logic loop that can happen even to us longer guys.

Yep. I'm nearly three months into my PE routine, and I measure end of this month, and I can say I've definitely gained girth, maybe .2 or .3, and at least .1 length.

5'8" and hover between 165-170 lbs, so not tall and not fat, but I could stand to loose 10-15 lbs (it just doesn't want to go no matter how much cardio I do and food I cut...lol). At last measure I was around 7.75" BPEL and 6.75" EL. The thing is, to our own eyes it always looks the same, since there isn't any real point of reference (until you put a ruler there), and gains come so slowly.

It's like when I used to work out more, people would tell me I was a lot bigger than I used to be, but when I looked in the mirror I might have seen a bit more muscle, but nothing significant in my own eyes.
