I see. So you have a mess on your front yard and you think, "ehhh, I'll get to it later." That later might come tomorrow, next month, or in a few years, but unless you can figure out a good reason to clean up your yard, it's gonna stay a total mess.
Guess I could have been more clear with that metaphor. I more meant that the tree is all that is left of it, so all you have is just a tower of wood. On the outside it looks okay-ish, but you know that on the inside.....who knows. Sure bark can fall off, but for the most part there isn't as much mess, but more something sitting there reminding you.
To be more precise about me being okay with the current depression and negativity it isn't exactly "I will get to it later", but that after many attempts to fix that have not gone right, feeling worse for not succeeding, and worrying about how to come up with ways to "fix" me it has been a breathe of fresh air to think of it differently and accept it like how one would deal with lactose intolerance. Sure you could look at it like me not wanting to get better, but I think this is a bigger step in fixing it.
I know at some point it will probably bite me in the ass, but I am certainly a lot happier now than when I was trying to fix it. For now I think it is what I need, but I will agree that it can't stay like that forever, probably not even for too long.
So, why exercise at all? Why don't you just quit? It's like you take time each and every day to go up and pick up debris of that fallen tree, with no real intention to get rid of the tree that causes the debris in the first place.
In the past 3 times I have done the whole work out thing the reasons for doing them was.
1. Started to do a 45 mile bike ride for my own sanity. Stopped because my girlfriend broke up with me, which is who I was doing it for.
2. Started again to get her back, didn't work out that way, soon I had a mental breakdown and tried to kill myself. (The break up was part of why I was going to.)
3. Started just to do it really. Stopped because I got hit by a car this past July.
The first two times I had external sources, although the 1st one was more of a mix. The 3rd one though I didn't really have a goal, sure losing weight was part of it, but I didn't have much of a finish line planned out nor a reason past "just so people don't think I am doing absolutely nothing". Now I am not sure why I didn't quit with the 3rd one, perhaps nothing major happened in my life to put me down or it became so much of a habit that I didn't think about it anymore. Not sure.
Without making this response too long. I think I have always wanted to be that me that I always imagine me being. No matter what I always envision me just being skinny and I must remind myself that reality is about 150 pounds off, but then I have to ask "If I am not going to use it, why get it?" What would I use being skinny for?
I am pretty sure you need to explore the idea that you are not worth losing weight for your self. You definitely need to love your self.
Thank you for the kind words.
I have tried a few times to look into these things. I did seem to have some success back in 2013, but the person I was seeing stopped practicing to go back to school and I followed with trying pills, but it didn't really work for me, at least it didn't feel like it, after about two months, plus I am not a fan of those types of pills.
