It seems that the truth can be very damaging to Democrats if it is allowed to be told.

Funny how they approve of suppression of speach unless it's not what they want to hear.

The truth does not fear investigation, but the guilty do!

The Government does a lot of things not enumerated in the Constitution. Show me where the Constitution specifically prohibits the flagging of perceived improper activity. For example, the Constitution forbids cruel and unusual punishment but does not specifically prohibit the death penalty.
The Death Penalty is NOT cruel and unusual punishment.
Is Assisted Suicide cruel and unusual punishment?
Death Penalty Inmates are given a Shot and Bye Bye.
Problem Solved!

I am so glad the FBI has even one agent looking at Twitter. It's not like they have anything more important to look at.

Sometimes opposing views include damaging misinformation.
And…? The government does not have the responsibility to protect people from misinformation. The First Amendment doesn’t say “..unless it’s bad info.”

Not to mention something that’s become very clear the last few years; “Misinformation” is often used as pretext to suppress something someone simply just doesn’t like. The feds are the last people we should trust to determine for us what is true or not.

I will agree to disagree over whether the FBI coerced or referred Information for investigation. In my opinion, Twitter made the final decision on its own after investigation.
You want to have it both ways to suit your own ends. You’ve said that Trump is responsible for sending people to riot at The Capitol. Did those people not make their own final decision? Please help me to understand how these two beliefs of yours aren’t in complete contradiction with each other.

There is no defense for the indefensivble yet people will try won't they? Which group runs around claiming disinformation/misinformation? We know and they get away with it. They have the media and the FBI on their side.
Every political campaign I have seen over my lifetime has always been filled with politicians lying about this or that. The citizens/voters job was to see through those lies; yes some never did. They believe everything that's told to them because they like them or their party or whatever.
Where were the people complaining about the Russian collusion stuff? Talk about disinformation but it served their purpose. "Their" refers to the democrats and their media allies. I'm still waiting for Adam Schiff to release his proof, proof he never had, proof that was all lies and no one in the media or party ever said boo did they?
If you as a person are affected by the lies that are spewed because you're too lazy, ignorant, of just don't care well that's the way you are and so be it. Freedom says you're allowed to be that way. When you have a party, one party and the majority of the media behind it and they scream for censorship disguised as misinformation that is the biggest threat to democracy there is but they don't really care do they? They simply want control and that is sad and scary!

Neither side should be trying to regulate speech, and we know that the Trump White House was leaning on Twitter and other SM platforms to combat “misinformation”, as well.

The media seems pretty Bolshevik in nature. People should do some hard core digging into the owners and controllers of today's media.

They have a lot in common with many leaders in government.

A good way to think of it is over representation on a grand scale.

That is so true. No one should be trying to regulate it, say what is good or not, what's true or not yet there seems to be no way to stop them.

Does that mean freedom of the press should be abridged?

For some reason we are back on Trump, the guy who asked people to come to Washington on Jan. 6, it’s going to be wild and then told the gathering to "stop the steal" of the election, telling them to head to the Capitol to demonstrate against Congress which was in the process of certifying President-elect Joe Biden's victory.

The FBI recommended that Twitter investigate possible violations of Twitter’s rules and decide if the violations warranted suspensions. The FBI did not tell Twitter to suspend anyone.

Give me a break. When did it become the FBI's job to monitor social media and help them figure out who may have broken the rules Twitter established? You mean they need FBI help? Now was this the same FBI run by the same people who lied to get FISA warrants? Oh of course there is no bias there right? Is this the same FBI who had agents in the crowd on Jan 6 and did nothing? I thought law enforcement people were obligated to when they see a "crime" happening they maybe should do something about it? How do you ignore these things? I know Trump bad and that gives you justification to simply gloss over glaring problems.

A congressman was elected in my area; he's Republican and he seems to have lied about some of his accomplishments. Democrats are calling for his resignation or expulsion because he lied about going to college and a few other things. Yet graduating in the top of my class, the only guy on a full scholarship. having 3 degrees just to name a few you're okay with? Well the dems want to do a re-do election because this guy lied but Biden lies and you and your party don't seem to care. Remember what goes around comes around and with the repubs in charge of the House some real good stuff will come out about Joe but you will simply ignore it or call it disinformation and that is a threat to democracy.

Nah he's a good man and I know very many like him. Their hatred of one guy clouds their view. Up until Jan 6 I never hd anyone tell me policy wise what they hated so much about Trump. What the media said, which gives these guys their viewpoint was; he colluded with Russians ( untrue), he would get us into a war ( no Biden is doing that) our allies are mad at us ( maybe because he made them pay what they were cheating us on) ,oh he put immigrants in cages ( the ones Obama built), oh tariffs on China was bad ( right let them cheat so we could have cheap stuff) and on and on.
Look what we have right now that they make excuses for. Inflation is transitory and not my fault, gas prices are high because of Putin (but I'll lower them by wiping out our SPR), a border in total chaos with people sleeping on the street in freezing temps; billions given to Ukraine as we go broke and get sucked into a war; energy supplies in a shambles; baby formula still lacking but the media doesn't cover it, drugs in short supply, food shortages in the market just to name a few but they see NOTHING but Trump hatred and Trump won't even get the nod for 2024.

And just as you said that Twitter made their own final decision, so did the people who went to DC on Jan 6th. Yet somehow you want Trump to be held responsible for their actions but you don’t see the hypocrisy of saying that the FBI has no responsiblity for the removal of Twitter content.

I didn’t say you did. I was referring to JohnneyD‘s post. Yet you guys insist in bringing in Trump and Biden

My contention is that the FBI did not violate the Constitution. Whether the FBI should be bothered with Twitter rules violations can be argued either way depending on your political persuasion And which party controls the Administration.

I find it strange that George Santos is being hailed as the poster boy for the Republican Representatives In Congress. Barney Frank took the gracious way out by resigning when photographed feigning grabbing a sleeping woman’s breasts.

Maybe you should have quoted the other post then. You quoted me so I replied.

I apologized for not making it clear. However, i Noticed you did not bother to respond to the question I posed regarding your statement that I did quote in my reply. Perhaps you should also comprehend what you read.

Comprehension, lol. For me to give n answer, you would have to ask a question but you didn't.

You just quoted me then kind of rambled on.

No worries, so many posts in this thread. If you have a question for me, I'd be glad to answer
