I'm a little worried that they moved me to the injuries forum. Does that mean it's official that's it's a physical problem

Haven't you said all along that you injured yourself? Let's not take whatever forum you find your post in as any official diagnosis whatsoever. You have seen a urologist who said he didn't think anything was wrong and told you to have a better attitude which you have said in one of your previous post. I take it you gave the doc some lip because he didn't know what he was talking about;you did so therefore you were the doctor. How about going to another urologist, listen to what he says because you really don't know much unless you have a medical degree that you're hiding somewhere, and try to be a good patient and maybe he can help you. You go in with an attitude and you won't get help. As to what forum you find your post, who cares.Everyone here is tring trying to help but your real cure has to be done professionally and not on some internet forum. And let's say the new urologist syas that your problem is in your head and not in your dick. Will you be man enough to accept his results and try to work form there or are you just going to say he doesn't know what he's taking about and whine! Trust me if he feels that you have a physical problem that is something he can try to fix and make some money at the same time. Contrary to what some people think a urologist doesn't make any money handing out scripts nor does he make any money off non physical ed!

I was actually just kidding. I only got mad because all he said to me was some people have bad luck and that I'll prob never gave normal sex and I'll just have to deal with it. If they know it's 100 percent pychological then I'll go with it

I felt I had to reply to this it's so strange giantsrule pretty much everything you have described is what I have to a t. Even about telling your dad. I am only slightly older than you too (25 almost 26 years old). Like you I injured myself years ago, I won't go through everything again but a lot of my previous posts explain how I believe I caused these issues. Basically I get a weaker erection, even when I am really aroused they don't get fully "rock hard", the glands are softer, less full and plump when erect and my erection dies (goes down) instantly without constant stimulation. I admit kegels have worked in the past for me, I got harder much faster and better hardness when erection but I still found even then my erection would decrease quicker than it should. I still needed the phyiscal stimulation going to remain hard. It's almost impossible to keep an erection normally without constant physical stimulation, which was never the case before. For some older men this is likely normal and expected but I am like 25 years old which is still quite young I would say and young men shouldn't really need constant stimulation to remain hard. The problem seems to be for you and me I think is the locking mechanism when we get an erection is failing (hence why we loose are erection quickly).

I have been to a few doctors who also didn't really help much, I had full tests done like blood work etc which all came up fine I am pretty healthy apparently. I asked for physical tests to be done but they refused and they didn't really take me seriously I think. As in they didn't believe I truly had real ED to them, I think some doctors can't believe a young man can have geniune ED. I think telling them I was a virgin I shot myself in the foot because they probably thought I was niave and anxious so I couldn't get hard or keep an erection. This is not the case. I want to try Viagra or Cialis but it's not that straight forward it's not like you can just buy it over the counter here in the UK you have to be approved by your local GP in order to get these pills. If you don't have a prescription for them you can't get them. I suppose you can buy some online (it could be risky though) but I don't have a credit card either.

Like you mentioned about getting good erections then them became worse, my erection was pretty good at first as well but slowly over the years they have got slightly worse and a bit weaker I am pretty sure the injury is the root cause of it.

I too have been told it's "all in my head" to some degree it could be but I know the main issue is physical I have little doubt about this, likely I may of caused erectile tissue damage or something. To prove the problem is phyiscal when I wake up in the morning my erection is decent in terms of hardness, but again the glands are pretty soft and the moment I get up or move my erection will decrease instantly and quickly. This was never the case before infact I often woke up so hard it took forever for it subside so I could take a leak. My erection used to have a real "throb" vibrating feel to it when I got fully erect not anymore though. Is this the case with you as well?

Suicide isn't the answer for years this got me down but I have been able to get over it a lot I mean I have been like this for years now almost 6 years I have got used it. My confidence is pretty good actually and I feel less anxious than I used to. I got into meditation techniques for a short time earlier this year which quiet my mind a lot I don't worry as much about my ED, my mind is clear a lot but the weaker erection and poor lasting ability to hold one remains, my atittude is good I am confident etc so this proves the problem at the root is mostly phyiscal to me. I honestly can't see how after all these years my ED (for me anyway) is "all in my head". Even when I went through preriods of depression when I was younger (before the injury) my erections were fine, so I think mental ED is not the problem. I also told my father about my ED problems and although he is a great dad he didn't/doesn't take me to have a real problem.

Anyway keep us informed wth anything just so you know mate I am in the same boat and I know there are others around who are too.

Sorry ahead of time for being so harsh.

One thing we have to remember is there is no good treatment specifically for venous leak. We still have to be thankful that we have erectile functioning. There are many men who are born with venous leak and have never had an erection EVER. Like, never had any sort of life in their penis.

The treatments that are appropriate for guys our age is viagra/cialis, Cock ring, and Vaccuum device. Instead of blaming the doctors for not having an answer, maybe we need to accept that there is no good treatment or no other alternative for us at this time. So maybe that's why he won't charge you 100's of dollars that won't change any of your treatment plans. What you can do in the meantime is take daily cialis, kegel, improve your overall health, and establish care with a urologist so that when a better treatment hits, you can be sure to have a good doctor to take care of your health needs. (search for a gene therapy maxi-k i believe its called. and there is a dopamine nasal spray that is in the works)

Do you really want venous leak surgery? Are you aware of the huge risks? Or the shots or urethral suppositories? Man, medicine can't fix everything, I had to learn that the hard way as well. I wasted 2 years searching for answers that would never come. My doc ran blood tests to rule out causes of which he could do something about it. And I asked him to repeat and repeat because for sure they were missing something. Little did I know at the time, I was being stupid.

What I realized over the 2 years, is what is the harm in speaking to a sex therapist? At this point, if there is even a hint of psychological component you can get over (let's say 33% of your EQ loss is psychological). Wouldn't you want to find out if there is an underlying psych issue there? No one's saying you're crazy or psychotic, but emotions can cause bad ED. Even men with normal functioning will attest it happens to them.

Lastly, I think a doc should give you atleast a doppler U/S to make sure you have good arteries. But I know from my experience, the docs will make you wait a few months for that. See if your next uro would consider that in the near future for you. But remember, you can't just walk in and demand it. They must be asked for. Best of luck.

UKGuy and giantsrule, you simply MUST take matters in your own hands and find a doctor willing to do the appropriate tests. Big Al even recommended anyone concerned should have a cavernosography before starting PE to check for pre-existing abnormalities. Now, I think that's a bit extreme because I doubt insurance companies would cover the procedure just because someone wanted to undertake PE(!), but you guys claim to be experiencing ED. There is absolutely NO excuse not to get these tests and the sooner the better. First off, discussing something you might not even have is pointless, secondly the success rate at treating leaks in young guys who may have caused it by trauma and have no arterial or degenerative issues is actually pretty good. Do not discount it.

Nope! I think most people have just already added what they have to add, at least until you provide more information (as in above).

Giantsrule, the fact that you are getting pretty good erections sometimes really suggests to me that your plumbing is good and your main problem is psychological.... work on getting your depression taken care of, and do try to cut back on the masturbation. You might be really surprised with the results.

A venous leak has to be a diagnosed entity by a urologist using the appropriate medical tests. There has been no such diagnosis here. We have a young man who has some issues that according to the last urologist was mental not physical.I think before we all start giving good well meaning advice that this young man should go to a doctor and get what needs to be done diagnosed. Herein lies another issue in that the first doc did not take all the test that are out there. Why not? Well who is going to pay for it? If the doctor , after his examination, doesn't feel that this problem is physical then how does he justify the expense of more tests to the insurance company? If it's me and I really do believe that my problem is physical I go in with my charge card, tell the doc I'll pay out of pocket for the test that I need because I want to get better . If in the course of the test something physical is wrong then my insurance company will (hopefully) reimburse me. If nothing is found wrong then I have spent alot of money but at least I know where my problem is.

This post is pretty accurate. I'm someone as well that has suffered an injury to my penis and is going through the process of trying to fix it. My problem is severe though as my penis has physical deformities. However, if your penis has not suffered any structural changes or deformities Steve123's post is pretty accurate. Even if urologists perform the tests and find something they will like prescribe daily cialis use for a couple of months to see if it helps. The only thing I have heard about that might help a venous leak is an interventional radiologist embolising a vein. And there is very little data about this curing venous leak.

I would suggest trying out viagra and levitra at different doses to see how they work. I'm hoping that with the right dose the medication will give you a full erection. It might suck having to rely on meds to get an erection, but it sure as hell beats not getting an erection at all.

Also, I do not think your problem is really psychological due to the history you have given. I am not sure it is a venous leak, but I do think there is some damage to the penis. However, most urologists are just quick to say a young person having ED has to be psychologically related because in their past experience that is mostly the case. I do think seeing a specialist in erectile dysfunction is a good idea though. They definitely are more skilled to address ED problems than a general uro.

No reason to end it over something like that. Kegels and stamina work could help you out if you're willing to give it time. Things heal, but stressing over it will only make it far worse. Try the kegels.

giantsrule: You may need some patience for your penis to heal. Go see a doctor / urologist and get some clear advice on what to do / what can be done.

Listen to NP97... life is more than just our penis. Even so, focus on finding a solution, not giving up! :D

Giantsrule, you should REALLY go talk with your father about this more seriously and take him up on his offer. I guarantee you won't find a better understanding person then him! Keep your chin up and eye's forward man, there's always hope!

Agree with this 100 percent. Don't wait man, talk to your father ASAP. Do NOT give up anything. You haven't even found out what your dealing with, and as I said in my first post even if it turned out to be a leak (I have my doubts), do not listen to anyone who says nothing can be done. This is an area where you can't make a blanket statement like that because everyone's case is different. The fact that you're young is very much in your favor. Get your ass to a urologist who specializes in this stuff and please let us know how it turns out.

Don't give up, man. Listen to Waylander. Talk to your dad.
