I'm a little worried that they moved me to the injuries forum. Does that mean it's official that's it's a physical problem
Sorry ahead of time for being so harsh.
One thing we have to remember is there is no good treatment specifically for venous leak. We still have to be thankful that we have erectile functioning. There are many men who are born with venous leak and have never had an erection EVER. Like, never had any sort of life in their penis.
The treatments that are appropriate for guys our age is viagra/cialis, Cock ring, and Vaccuum device. Instead of blaming the doctors for not having an answer, maybe we need to accept that there is no good treatment or no other alternative for us at this time. So maybe that's why he won't charge you 100's of dollars that won't change any of your treatment plans. What you can do in the meantime is take daily cialis, kegel, improve your overall health, and establish care with a urologist so that when a better treatment hits, you can be sure to have a good doctor to take care of your health needs. (search for a gene therapy maxi-k i believe its called. and there is a dopamine nasal spray that is in the works)
Do you really want venous leak surgery? Are you aware of the huge risks? Or the shots or urethral suppositories? Man, medicine can't fix everything, I had to learn that the hard way as well. I wasted 2 years searching for answers that would never come. My doc ran blood tests to rule out causes of which he could do something about it. And I asked him to repeat and repeat because for sure they were missing something. Little did I know at the time, I was being stupid.
What I realized over the 2 years, is what is the harm in speaking to a sex therapist? At this point, if there is even a hint of psychological component you can get over (let's say 33% of your EQ loss is psychological). Wouldn't you want to find out if there is an underlying psych issue there? No one's saying you're crazy or psychotic, but emotions can cause bad ED. Even men with normal functioning will attest it happens to them.
Lastly, I think a doc should give you atleast a doppler U/S to make sure you have good arteries. But I know from my experience, the docs will make you wait a few months for that. See if your next uro would consider that in the near future for you. But remember, you can't just walk in and demand it. They must be asked for. Best of luck.
Agree with this 100 percent. Don't wait man, talk to your father ASAP. Do NOT give up anything. You haven't even found out what your dealing with, and as I said in my first post even if it turned out to be a leak (I have my doubts), do not listen to anyone who says nothing can be done. This is an area where you can't make a blanket statement like that because everyone's case is different. The fact that you're young is very much in your favor. Get your ass to a urologist who specializes in this stuff and please let us know how it turns out.Giantsrule, you should REALLY go talk with your father about this more seriously and take him up on his offer. I guarantee you won't find a better understanding person then him! Keep your chin up and eye's forward man, there's always hope!
