Passion, intensity, interaction. Things that make it more of a full-body experience rather than just involving one or two areas. It's fine to be focused on them but there's a difference between intercourse with someone with minimal interaction, and the same act - even in the exact same position - that includes touching, kissing, biting, grabbing other areas as well. For example I love it when a guy's got his hands in my hair at some point during sex. Not just hair pulling but fingers in my hair, hand on my head, and he's kissing or biting my neck or looking me in the eyes while fucking. It's a small thing but it just brings it up to a different level.

I'm reviving this thread after several years. Both @Qandisa and @AverageDude48 had some great ideas for romantic gestures before and during sex. In all seriousness, is there a book or maybe even just an article that compiles lots of such ideas? I have started to write erotica recently and I would love to have this as source material. I don't want some worthless dribble published in Vogue "What Women Want in Bed" blah blah blah. I want someone who is a real lover and has written up a compendium of things he (or she) has really tried that have been successful with many partners. I do not want 10 ideas. I want 100 ideas, and I will filter through those on my own.
