I wanted to get an idea if most women find cock rings a turn-off when used by guys. I know that different women have different preferences; but knowing any general trends on this would be appreciated.

Are we talking about cock rings of the type that are simple rings designed just to make you get harder and stay that way longer? Or the kind that have ticklers and other doo-dads for pleasing your partner?

I suppose the vib kind falls into the second catogary.
Around your shaft or behind the balls? I tried one several years ago on the shaft, but it hurt after five minutes. I now use one (1/2" and doubled) behind the balls and around the shaft. Both my shaft and my balls expand and swell nicely and it helps maintain my erection (I have ED). My wife enjoys the extended (both time and size) overall package. Caution: It needs to be removed and replaced at least every 20 minutes to prevent damage.I just use a rubber band.

I appreciate the advice; however, I am cautious and fairly experienced. I have been doing it for more than 10 years without a serious problem. Developed a blister a number of years ago which taught me to release the band and refresh the blood at least every 20 minutes. I don't know about sterility (and don't care at my age) but everything else is working fine.Around the shaft. Behind the ball is not safe, because you are constricting the veins coming from your balls. That could lead to varicocele.

I think the band around both the shaft and scrotum together spreads the constriction out somewhat and reduces the pressure on the scrotum as opposed to a tight constriction just around the scrotum.
Don't like the sound of that. I will definitely be more vigilant. Went through basic training and advanced infantry training in 1964 but, thankfully, never encountered any physical damage.I had surgery for varicocele after brutal military training. I don't worry that much about fertility, but more about aesthetics; when you have varicocele, your balls hang very low, the never go up, and you can see the damaged veins protruding from the scrotum.
I have no experience with simple cock rings, though I certainly would not have anything against them. I guess my initial response to them is that they look like they might hurt (at least the metal ones and some of the tight-looking rubber ones). I know that is probably not the case, but anyway, I can't say I have any strong opinions about them either way.
I quite enjoy the cock rings with ticklers and vibrators. My man and I have experimented with several. I find that the ones that have nubs or other ticklers (but no vibrators) don't do much for me. They look cool and can keep him nice and hard, but the tickler parts don't do very much. When he's thrusting the nubs may rub over my clit, but with the one we've tried it doesn't offer much more stimulation than his pubic bone rubbing over me.
The vibrating cock rings are another matter. I love those bullets!!! Feeling something vibrating against my clit is one of the best things ever, and it can sometimes push me over the edge into great orgasms in positions or situations where I otherwise wouldn't cum. In addition to wearing one right-side-up in face-to-face positions, we have also used one up-side-down (the vibrating tickler under his cock) when he is behind me. That's great because in those positions my clit rarely gets enough stimulation for me to cum.
Anyway, I am all in favor of vibrating cock rings!
One thing I have done is swap bullet vibrators between rings. They are all about the same size, so if you can find a good powerful one, you can use it on all your cock rings. Also, some bullets are waterproof and some are not (if you want to try one in the tub). My lover and I bought several cock rings to try, and one of the bullets is much stronger than the others, so I moved it around. If you read reviews of various rings online, you can see which ones have good vibes and which don't. Buy at least one that has a great bullet, then you can use it in other rings which may have more interesting shapes.Just wish they made them more powerfull with longer lasting battery, the upside down position provides me with stimulation around the balls.
