Cialis 5mg vs Viagra 50mg

Hi,

Is there any difference between the above 2 in terms of efficacy? I understand the main difference between them :

• Viagra - taken on demand and is effective 30 minutes to an hour after consumption and it lasts for up to 5 hours
• Cialis - taken daily or on demand and is effective 30 minutes to 2 hours after consumption and it lasts for up to 36 hour

What about the dosage?

For the same individual, does it mean that taking Cialis 5mg is "less effective" than Viagra 50mg? In other words, does the same individual need a Cialis dosage of, say, 10mg to have the same effect as the Viagra 50mg?

I had much better results with 100mgs of Viagra that 10 mgs of Cialis daily. Currently I take 5 mgs of Cialis at night to promote frequent nightly erection for oxygenating health. For sex I take 50 mgs Viagra and inject a fairly strong dose of Tri mix about 1.2 cc’s. I’ll pump for awhile with the Viagra to preexpand the chambers prior to injecting. Create an extremely hard and extra thick etection, 6 inches around versus my normal 5.5. No complaints. Currently in bed while I type this with my morning pump on. Wife awake next to me.

The 5 mg of Cialis is a daily dose meant to at least somewhat build up over time . It is a lose dose for those with low need . Taken pre sex the amount is typically 10 to 20 mg of Cialis and 25mg to 50 mg of viagra . You are best asking your doc about this stuff .

I have been on Viagra 50mg for several years and I noticed that recently, it has not been effective - I did not get an erection at all. I guess it could be psychological - but that's another issue I have to deal with.

I am now trying out Cialis 5mg daily but I am worried about side effects (low blood pressure) of taking them together. I have not been having morning wood for a very long time and when I take Viagra 50mg, my morning wood seems harder when compared with Cialis 5mg. So my fear that there is serious damage.

And that's the reason for my post.

@Party - so you are on both. Any side effects? I get blocked nose when I take Viagra 50mg. I guess you are right - Cialis 5mg is more for "maintenance" & oxygenating health. Glad to hear that it's working for you.

@Pegasus - I do agree with you that Cialis 5mg is for building up as I don't feel that my morning erection is as strong as when I take Viagra 50mg. Thanks and I will seek more advise from my doctor.

Yes I take both, Viagra 3 to 4 times a week for sex with injection. Rock hard and thick for the 1 to 2 hours with the wife and still hard 1-2 hours after. If still rock hard, not a semi, after 4 hours a I’ll take a couple Sudafeds, the behind the counter kind, will get me soft and clear up my Stuft up nose too. Lol. I have found the 5 mg Cialis fantastic for frequent nocturnal erections, very hard and very thick, the wife agrees. My urologist questioned me using both but after explaining he agreed and wrote both prescriptions. There was a small clinical study done ED patients with no nocturnal erections taking 50 mg Viagra before bed. Almost all reported night erections and after two months, 30 percent report return to normal Erectile function with no med required. Obviously my ED is sever and it’s gotten worse over the last 25 years. The 5 mg Cialis for night erections is for penile health and size maintenance.

@Party - like you, my ED is severe and i am trying out Cialis 5mg daily and noticed that my nocturnal erections are coming back. However, the nocturnal erection is a #2 ("hard but not hard enough for penetration" based on the "Erection Hardness Score"). Just wondering if nocturnal erections should be a #4 ("completely hard and fully rigid" ). Should the daily Cialis dosage then be increased to a achieve #4 for nocturnal erection? I am, however, grateful & encouraged that the nocturnal erections are back - small victories . I have yet to try combining with Viagra 50mg for intercourse. Really happy to know that your regimen is working for you - keep it up !

@Pegasus - I am a 57 year old diabetic. My Sex Hormone Binding Glo is 21.3 nmol/L (normal range 19.3 - 76.4) and Testosterone is 11.20 nmol/L (normal range 6.68 - 25.70). I guess they are all in the low range due to diabetes and andropause.

What natural methods do you recommend? I am watching my diet and eating healthy (no carbs or sugary stuff) and exercising although I am not overweight - just to keep physically fit & healthy and to keep the heart pumping strongly.

Agreed. A nice hard tanned penis is much more attractive.

Congrats on the morning wood. I use the 5 mgs Cialis for that as well. Was wondering if your morning erections are rock hard. Mine are. Also are they thicker than normal?

Yes, Cialis 5mg seems to be doing wonders for my morning erections. They are hard but I don't think it is rock hard (congrats to you too on the rock hard erections ). I used to experience (a long long time ago) rock hard erections where the penis / base actually feel sore. I no longer get that feeling anymore. It's just hard now. The erection is not thicker than normal.

Would wish for a bigger girth though - and no harm if longer too .
