When I'm with the person I am with, its usually for a reason,
I am not interested in the other dish on offer, i have chosen my course and stay with it,
if thats all he does, fuck him off, he's obviously looking to see what his options are. Some one like that isnt worth the effort.

Just my opinion.

I dont think he was saying that you were justifying the behavior, I think he was making a general statement as well as defending me & the way I look. he was making sure that the readers (you included) know that the statement you wrote above isnt the case with me. I'm sure you are on to something in other bf gf situations, just not mine. My boyfriend assures me that I am perfect for him in every way, if thats not really the case...good luck to him finding a better looking woman.

Thank you for clarifying that. :) I honestly don't give a rap about what others "think" I "sounded" like. My post was for you. It is awesome to hear not only that you look great, but also your own security and self esteem about it. That is beautiful. In that case you should sit and talk to him....perhaps he doesn't deserve you?

I always notice and very rarely would I comment. Like, if I was at a movie or mall or something and I saw a really hot girl, I would never open my mouth. I do get caught looking though. I usually just laugh if I am caught and deny it.

But if its someone on TV or in a movie, I might make a comment jokingly. I think its habit. Like in college I would always point that out and so would my roommates/friends. Now I am married and I guess I haven't grown out of that yet, so my new roommate gets to hear it ha. I'm sure when I'm out of my 20s and my hormones calm down a little I will stop, maybe. However, I don't feel like my sex drive has dipped at all since the age of 13...so maybe I won't stop.

Wow, Im so flattered :)
Guess its because Im a commitment girl. Sometimes I think I would have been happy to have an aranged marriage situation. I know what Im worth, thats not the problem its just hard to find someone that is equal in worth PLUS equally attractive. My ex was telling me that he has decided that its NOT possible to find a girl that looks like me, is down to earth, fun, outgoing, and kind/sweet/conscientious etc. well I agree because I cant find a man like that either and Im not about to date a billion to find out...guess thats why I tend to settle. Dating is a bummer! Plus Im too freekin nice so, even though I dont like someone I dont want to hurt there feelings. Something negative about me is, I tend to avoid situations that make me feel uncomfortable. I'm still working on throwing myself into situations like that i.e Im working on it. I DONT LIKE TO WEAR MY BIG GIRL PANTIES! lol jk...that was figurative btw.

Sometimes BB, I think I settle too. In fact, your bf sounds EXACTLY like my gf. I do love her but damn, I'm sitting here on Sunday night, it's 8pm and I told her earlier today that I simply wanted to see her at some point today............yeah, I guess I wasn't important enough to her. Haven't heard from her since before noon and it's now 8pm. There are times where I ask myself "I love her but does she deserve me??????" In fact, as I was typing this, she FINALLY sends me a text. Unbelievable. And I guarantee the next text she sends me is going to be "are you mad at me???" She asked me how I was and my response was a one word response which should give her a clue that I'm too terribly happy with her at the moment.

Is it really so hard to put forth some effort for someone who's worth it?

It's a double standard, sometimes when I'm hanging with my girlfriend and she's with her sister and we're in their room or something, some crap will pop up on the TV and her and her sister freak out and go "OMMMMGGGG HE'S LIKE SOOOO HAWWWT"!! And I'll just be sitting there going the fuck, really?!! But in my head..
But I do look at other girls, I don't stare, or admire another woman's figure if I'm with my girl, and we actually had a talk about this the other night because she was getting upset with me that I looked at a few other girls earlier that night, but I told her that it was normal, and I wasn't lingering on them. We kind of came to an understanding but I forgot to mention what she does about guys on TV in front of me, but I know she checks out other guys as well, it's not a big deal for me because I know where me and her stand. And I'm also not like your man and I'm not gonna be like "DAMN BABE SHE'S GOT WAY BIGGER TITS THEN YOU DO DAAAYUMM!", I find that to be very rude, disrespectful, and degrading to my girlfriend.

Now that, was thoughtful! I think you come across wrong in your typing sometime. Sometime its sounds a little arrogant and Mr.BD was coming to my rescue. There's a group of us who have known each other for a long time so, were protective at times.

See thats how I am too, I dont look and I dont make comments about people on TV either, its pointless and stupid.

Mr.BD, Thats lame! Hopefully it doesnt get to where Im at which is... I'm pretty sure he missed the boat with me, I wish I could change it but I cant change the way I feel. I feel like I gave alot to the relationship in the beginning but he didnt, he was VERY non-committal and after over a year of that he has changed. He talks about me moving in ect. I'm over it, now I like my freedom and Im totally cool with just having sex every couple days. But now he wants more and he's complaining about how it is. I guess Im over it and he's just getting started. WTF?!?!?

Yep, it's very lame and with the few texts we exchanged, she had no idea I was mad and when I explained my reasons, she didn't offer up an apology, I got jack sh*t from her. I get this "I'm going to bed. Sweet dreams, we'll talk tomorrow"..........that's what I get after I TELL her how I feel? I think she wants the same thing that Renee wanted...........a boyfriend when it was convenient for her, otherwise, I could fuck off.

"Deathdrill" doesn't deserve you just like Cindy doesn't deserve me, which is sad because I genuinely loved this one. Oh well, onward and upward I guess.

Dating is EXHAUSTING for people our age more so than younger people. I think its because were all settled into homes with kids ect. when your comfortable alone it takes the drive away from wanting to add someone new to your life. Its just a burden. Someone perfect has to be out there for us both. I can tell you this...it should be all hearts and smiley faces at this point in your new relationship, you shouldn't be having trouble yet.

Dating SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I freakin' HATE it. No one wants to get to know anyone anymore.......especially if you're a single parent with kids. It's like you said BB, people in our age bracket get comfortable and while they bitch about being single, trying to add that new person to their lives is too much of a hassle between their kids, work, social life and everything else, it's like that don't want to make the time to do the extra distance. You know how many married people I know that tell me "thank God I don't have to date anymore, I don't think I could do handle it, I don't know how you do it................." and I tell them "well, I have a choice, I either stay single the rest of my life or I make an effort to TRY and find that right person to spend the rest of my days with". Whatever, married folk have no clue. Man, I NEVER thought I'd ever say that.

I've never understood why humans "need" to have somebody next to them. I am single and will stay single. But that is just me. To each his own. The only advice I can give, is that the more you look for that "perfect" other, the harder is to find it. Keeping your circle of friends and an active social life, helps expose yourself to more possibilities to meet new people.

FYI guys... your girlfriend does NOT want to know how hot you think Pamela Anderson is, or the weather girl, OR that chick walking down the street! I dont care how "Cool" we act like we are with it, would YOU like us to say something every time we are attracted to a guy, probably not.

Your "guy" is not representative of all men. Because he feels the need to do or say something, does not mean he is exempt from being an anomaly in comparison to other males. Most men do not do this, because they understand how insecure women can be, when it comes to other women and/or aesthetics.

Similar to how women are with men and penis size. Would the average woman tell her boyfriend that his cock is small even if he asked and it is, in fact small? Probably not. Would the average man tell his gf/wife if another woman is more attractive than her, even if she asked and the other woman is, in fact, more attractive? Probably not.

I completely agree that making such comments are really annoying, might be hurtful, and in addition it can be very disrespectful too.

I came to think that there may be yet another reason to why some men (and women) makes such comments.

The man makes a comment about another woman.
His girlfriend expresses dissatisfaction with the comment.
The man thinks that his girlfriend says this because she is jealous.
The man interprets this as a sign that she does not want to lose him to another woman.
The man continues to make comments about other women to get the feeling that his girlfriend wants him for herself.
It makes him feel good when she confirms that she wants him and don’t want to share him with other women.

I might be all wrong here, but if I were the one making comments like that, I would guess I would do it to get some sort of confirmation from my boyfriend. (Luckily I'm in a very good relationship where I get such confirmations without having to do anything to get them :) )

Interesting comment. That makes the comment into a sort of negative stratagem for fishing for compliments (or at least affirmation.)

"Fishing for affirmation" is something that is probably very common in relationships where one or both partners is fearful of losing the other.
It rarely works out well.

I notice girls but mainly when im with my mates in college, i really only comment about girls when my gf makes a comment about how pretty they are or so on, but to start off with in the relationship i was doing what you are complaining about, she told me how it made her feel though and she did the same to me, i seen how it felt and stopped.
