Vasodilators such as alpostradil (Caverject, Edex) and Trimix are often prescribed to overcome ED issues. They are usually injected but can be used aS a suppository in the urethra. They are considered more effective than PDE5s (viagra, Cialis, et al.) However, if overdosed, they are more likely to cause priapism than PDE5s. Ideally, if the proper dose is injected, these vasodilators will generate a 1.5 to 2 hour hard erection even without stimulation and also after orgasm.
if too much is injected, the result can be a four hour plus erection. In a worse case scenario, the unoxegenated blood not cleared out of the penis can result in gangrene. After being erect for more than two hours, it is recommended to take several Sudafed (not extended relief) tablets. If after four hours the erection has not subsided, a trip to the ER is highly recommended.
