Best Places to Meet Women?

Title says it all. I hear all the time that one of the best places to meet a girl is at the gym...but I just find that weird. I mean, I kinda think that most women who are in a gym are there to get a workout in, not be oogled by males. Besides, what would you even say to her? "Hey, nice bench form you got there. My name is Steve". Awkward.

On the other end of the spectrum, I've heard that bars are just terrible. Loud, dark, and too much going on.

I think my best bet would be class, since that is something you two have in common.

I agree!! Class and then the gym--in that order. If you became a regular at the gym, the chances are you would meet some interesting women there.

i was a frat boy. partys are great if you are a brother. otherwise... too loud.

according to my experience the best places are:

For college:
-school groups. join all the clubs.
-classes. sit next to her, ask to be a study buddy.
- walking across campus - aren't you in my ... class? come to my party tonight. invite her friends.
- girls in your dorm. meet them. all of them. knock on their door and ask if they have X movie. bring it back and chat her up. invite her out.
- friends of your female friends.
- charity events at your school - help with them. these girls are easy because you look like a great guy.
- join intramural sports. play in mixed sex leauges. invite the other team to a party afterward.

Out of School (adult) - i've only been out of school for about 3 years, and there was a period of adjustment.
- at bars... outside with the smokers. even if you don't smoke, go outside for fresh air. the girls that like to party often smoke.
- on the job - i try to shy away from this now that im all career oriented, but meeting girls at work is pretty easy. invite them out to eat after. be persistant - you see them every day. when they finally say yes, make it really fun.
- strip clubs - if you like to party a lot... let the girls know it, they will respond.

More Wholesome - great places you wouldn't think of.
- grocery shopping. there's always a few younger cute girls there. talk to them all. ask their opinions about groceries and deals, recipes, etc. get their number. take them out - if they're single invite them for the dinner you are shopping for.
- join groups - be socially active. book clubs, going to art events, museums. poetry readings....
- coffeeshops. hit the same one every day for a week. you'll see what i mean.
- bookstores. same idea
- restaurants. hit on the waitress shamelessly. get her number. especially easy if its a nice restaurant.

these last ones are a bit outdated. the book is from the mid 90s. it has real good justifications for these selections though. and anyone who laughs at rennesaince fairs is crazy. hippie chicks that are sexually adventurous are the types that frequent these places. aparantly. who knew?

I agree with you on the gym thing. Most women are there to work out and NOT get hit on by a guy. I tried it a couple of times and got nowhere fast. A party or social gathering is a good place or being introduced through a mutual friend/acquaintance. That's how my current lady friend and I met. Online works for many folks, never did for me. I would definitely take the workplace off the list........that could get you either fired or stalked........fun stuff....lol

One thing in particular on rockstar's list which caught my eye was the coffeeshop. I've met a handful of women at the local coffeeshops that I frequent, all of which turned out to be pretty great. It's a very non threatining situation, and the people there tend to be quite relaxed and easy to approach. If the barista who makes your coffee is of any interest to you....the fact that you become a regular customer makes the approach even easier.

like i said, i don't advocate work and romance mixing together. that said, many people on this forum are fairly young.

if you're not in your career job, say you're a bouncer at a bar or a waiter or a temp at an office... not such a bad idea. it can cause lots of drama (most of which can be avoided,) but it is also very easy. thats why i included it.

honestly i think pubs are the best. class after that. in pubs you can have the excuse of talking to anybody because everybodies there for a good time. you dont need one-liners to start conversation, just go up and say the first thing that pops in your head - like you would with anybody else. nothing sleazy or sexually orientated tho. well thats not my way anyway. thing is with pubs you get such a variation of people that it can be hard to tell who would be interested in talking to you and who wouldnt. so my moto is to try em all!! ha. confidence is key

pubs and bars are such different animals. at a bar or a club, i dont even bother if i don't know the girl. i have trouble hearing so bars and such are just too loud. pubs, on the other hand can be useful, still pretty girls don't tend to go to pubs alone... you have friends and obstacles to deal with, but a very sound option.

this is what ive been dedicating a lot of my time to, finding different types of women in different places. Personally i dont like the types of girls found at bars or parties, there fun but im not gonna call them back. Im pretty insecure so i only keep girls around that i think i can trust with my friends. but ive given up on select places. now i just go out and do things. walk places. women are everywhere and picking them up while they are doing everyday things seems to work amazingly. if i see a cute girl pumping gas or at sobeys or anywhere, ill smile and say hi. If i get a smile back i initiate conversation. One of the simplest ways to pick up woman. walk up to them and say hi my name is "........". its honest, lets them know you dont play games, your interested, and all you need is them to give you their name in return to know you have the green light. also women in work uniforms. i think they really appreciate being hit on when in a code specified uniform. it makes them feel good about themselves, which is really the key to success.

oh dont get me wrong, when i want a quick lay or a blowjob on the dancefloor ill hit up the bar. im not gonna take seriously any women i meet there. of course you may have a different bar scene where you are at, but here its all 20 yr old sluts who like being fingered to drake. the girls ive had sex with from the bar have always been disappointing too, so maybe i am a little biased. but generally i find going to the bar is like hunting at one of those places where you sit in a stand and they spray an odor in the air and the deer just come to you and wait to be picked off.

i dont know what it is but in a club im absolutely useless haah. i think it might be the bad music they play at the clubs here that turns me right off. in the pubs tho im magic and in my experience you dont meet sluts at a bar, near EVERY type of girl goes to a bar like.. if you only want to meet sluts, then sluts are what you'll meet. ive had a few relationships that started from pubs, but then i guess thats the type of girl i go for normally
