we should love america, not the way a child loves his parents - unconditionally, thinking there is no wrong, ignorantly proclaiming greatness - but instead, the way that an adult loves their spouse - accepting and knowledgeable of their flaws, looking to help them fulfill their potential, with give and take.

i agree we need to get back on track. we need to start pushing eco friendly things and i believe if we support other countries who make great products our products will become better instead of buying quantity over quality. ill lead the return of americans movement. shoot we need more informed citizens with great ideas to solve our problems instead of just relying on our politicians, which i cant stand. only one i kinda like is ron paul (and its not the weed issue) its because he is the most real politican we have! instead of blinding the common american with fancy talk. just remember if your listening to a politican ( this goes for any country) listen to the middle of the speach i bet youll find a lot of bad things in there. they put these parts in the middle because who remembers the middle? i bet once you think about it you'll see you only really remember the beginning and the end and that is where they put the stuff people hear.

All Americans have to do is RESPECT each other and each other's opinions (that concept has simply vanished in many circles!). That means STOP listening to corporation propaganda, and start listening to EACH OTHER. Americans should shut down the propaganda outlets: FoxNews, CNN and MSNBC. American's should be picketing these companies, egging their limo's, boycotting the companies that advertise with them.

Then, stop letting large corporations run the nation. Why? Because they will run it right into the ground (they don't care about America or Americans, which makes them very much the enemy doesn't it?).

Start with those two things and America will stay on top for centuries to come, and won't need hand-out welfare to big businesses, or allow them unlimited access to our elected officials with their (once was 'our') money.

So who's going to lead the 'Return of Americans' movement! Volunteers?

Ron Paul's got some interesting ideas, he wants to not pay back the national debt to the Federal Reserve bank. That would knock the debt to zero real quick!!!! Not sure what it would do to the world economy but at least America would be debt free!

are you saying the rest of the world doesn't matter as long as america is ok ? I don't know anything about this proposal to write off debt but it seems a little ... iffy .. isn't dodgey accounting / financing what got the GFC ball rolling in the first place. Not USA bashing but then the green back isn't nearly as important to the world economy as it used to be

well he doesn't really want the fed. i can see his point but i disagree about getting rid of it completely. i think his biggest reason about not paying the fed the money is that they control and print money to "pay" our loans and debts. he mostly wants a audit that show what the fed spends the money on. he explains the fed as a "legalized secret organization that can counterfeit money to pay the debts" basically he explains the fed controls the interest rates,controls amount of money in the system, makes money to put in banks for the feds benefits and not the american peoole. a lot of people see prices as going up or down but in actuality its the value of the dollar increasing or decreasing. the more money printed the higher prices will seem due to diluted value of the dollar. when the fed prints money the government officials get ahold of it first when the dollar is still more valuable, but once i reaches the common people its worth less due to the dilution of value.

p.s not saying that the other countries arent important its just that if we default on our insane amount of debt then the other countries get screwed over because its basically like someone not payin ya back when you need the money to pay for your debt or other products for your house. everyone gets screwed due to the large amount of money that is being dealt with. but what is funny is that since the money isnt on gold standard anymore the world as a whole can make certain countries currency as strong or weak as they want to. basically its all monopoly money anymore.

on another note we as americans will have to do our part with spending money responsibly. instead of over spending trying to keep up with the jones, Americans learn to live in your means pleasw for everyone's sake. go to your local stores and support then. use your brains and make high quality products. we need to get back into the old innovative ways of our early days instead of selling out so much. become self sufficent. don't expect the government to cover your ass anymore. social security shouldn't even be around right now and i doubt it will last much longer... so take the precautions needed to help yourself and STOP looking for handouts

I have to say Australia has followed a disturbing trend as well, our manufacturing industries have all but gone, we've become the consumers and that's the only roll we fill. it doesn't take an economic genius to work out the many many problems this causes.

I miss the 4th of July's our family did when I was a kid. Food, a pool and coca-cola was fantastic! My parents didn't buy soda pop so when I went to parties, I drank all I could get!!
