Thank you to whoever shared the primal living information here a month or so ago. I have been following the free primal blueprint E book from marks daily apple. It is a pretty simple body weight training routine. It also seems rather mild. One day of cardio and two days of body weight workouts a week.
At any rate I am a couple weeks in and am seeing progress as far as how much I can complete and how I feel afterward. Is anyone else using this program? I like it so far as it is an easy step away from my sedentary lifestyle. If anyone is aware of a diet that is similar to what is offered by this site I can try for free please point me in the right direction. Currently my diet is pretty good but I think a more regimented and planned diet would really help my child. I want to get him off of processed foods and see if it affects his behavior.

The best advice I can give you is buy ingredients, not meals. You'll notice a world of difference in how much you eat and how you feel after you start to fix all of your meals. If you're losing weight, avoid snacking and stick to the 3 basic meals a day and don't eat 2 hours before bed. I know I said "you" a lot but just substitute this for your child if this is what you desire. I can't offer a lot of advice for the primal blueprint as I'm not on it.

if you have the available real estate, grow a garden. get your kid to help you plant watermelons or tomatoes or cucumbers. first off its cheaper than buying the stuff and it tastes better. plus it shows your kid where food comes from. get on healthy snacks too - kids like blueberries just as much as gummi bears. they make fruit leathers which taste so much like fruit roll ups that its insane, but they're made from dried apples and berries.

what i've started doing is avoiding the grocery aisles entirely. i hit the produce, deli, and dairy sections. actually take a close look when you go through the aisles, they're full of processed carbs in a million different forms, vegetables that have been destroyed by the canning process, and a billion different products full of all forms of salt and sugar, preservatives and emulsifiers. there are a few things you need of course, but its mostly all garbage.
