Stop and start is the first step in edging. Once you feel better you should aim to do the same (play with PONR at max EL) without stopping.
This would depend on your level of experience. If you're a very advanced trainee then you'll likely be starting with a much higher rep count than if you were just transitioning to advanced exercises.
If you're new to advanced training, start with 5 squeezes and 100 Side to Sides. Ad 1 rep every other session and 10 reps to each respectively.

Hey Big Al I have a question about the side to side stretch. I can't get any of the videos to work so am trying to visualize how it works. From what I understand from what I've read you are basically pulling straight down and then back and forth from one side to the other in a pendulum type swing. Well last night I stumbled across stretching straight out and then going from left hip to right hip in straight out position rather than down and I felt like I had a much better stretch that way. Ive been doing your routine for almost 2 months now and have worked up to 800 so far. However with doing it straight out instead up down I felt fatigue within my first 200 reps where as before I wouldn't feel any fatigue till within the last 100 or so. So my question is, have I been doing it wrong this whole time? If not is there a reason behind why I should do a pendulum type swing/strech vs. straight out? Thanx in advance for your advice.

The most direct way of stretching the suspensory ligament is against it (straight down), but if you feel that you get a better angle and feel of stretch doing it outwards, then give that method a try.

Okay but do u think constantly adjusting grip, makes the exercise sort of less effective?
With the STS, I grip at mid shaft and after about 10-15 reps, my hand slips and goes down to my glans and then I have to grip again. Is this normal or should I be able to do more reps without readjustment?

When I was faithfully doing this routine. STS' and squeezes. I was up to 2000 every other day on STS, and only 600 on squeezes. I stopped all together. Stress no rest and no time/privacy stopped me. No excuse I know. I really felt that they were working. I was feeling the change. Now maybe I might to 400 to 600 stretches when I get out of shower. No squeezes. Eventually I will get back full swing.
