This is my first post. I hope it is worth reading.

I thought I was going to start with an extender (hence my forum name), but after finding this web site and reading lots of posts, especially many forum posts on hanging, I decided to try hanging first. The main reason for my decision is the sock hanger is such an easy, inexpensive way to start hanging. Buying an extender is expensive. So, since I would like to gain some length (girth later) I made that decision. I am hoping to get some feedback from experienced hangers about the following.

Back in 1994 I had my suspensory ligaments cut. It was quite an experience, but I doubt anyone in this thread would be interested in that story. In retrospect I wish I had not done the procedure.

Based on what I have read on this site, some of the gains from extending and hanging seem to come from stretching the ligaments. In hanging there seems to be some initial emphasis on achieving that ligament stretch. However, I do not have any ligaments to stretch. I am wondering if there is anything I should be aware of given my particular circumstance.

I just started hanging -- just a simple, two pound hang while seated with my butt near the front edge of the chair and everything hanging straight down. My penis normally exits from a relatively normal looking spot (lower than it did before, but still normal looking). However, during the stretch the base of my penis exits much below the pubic bone -- I guess that is not surprising since there are no ligaments holding it up higher. This leads to my primary question:

Should I forget about hanging at the angle of sitting? That angle seems best for stretching the ligaments. Since I have no ligaments to stretch, maybe a better angle would be perpendicular to my body. If the experienced people here agree, then how would I easily achieve that? The only thing I can think of would be some type of pulley system, but that complicates getting setup to hang while seated. Hanging while seated is very convenient since I can use my computer while hanging. On the other hand, is it going to be just as productive to hang as I am currently hanging and forget about figuring out a way to hang with my penis perpendicular to my body?

Another question I have (which will show my "newbie" lack of knowledge and experience) is this: extender/traction devices need to be worn for multiple hours every day to get results, but hanging should not be done for more than 20 minutes. This must be because of the greater pull being done on a penis by the weights used for hanging compared to the pull being done on a penis by a traction device. Traction devices seem to use around 1000 grams for force (some a little less, some double that). If I did the math right, a 1000 gram force is about the same as a 2 pound weight, and a 2000 gram force would be around 4 pounds. Assuming that is correct, then would it be OK to hang for a "long time" using 2 pounds for a few hours each day?... building up to 3, maybe at most 4 pounds?

By the way, my starting numbers are:

BPEL: 4.5 inches
MEG: 4.25
BPFSL: 5.0
MFG: 3.5

Clearly I have a long way to go get anywhere near where I would like to be. But I won't get there if I don't try.

I would hang light and possibly try straight out and you can use a pully or a clamp attached to a desk to do this. remember to stay at low weight.

Thanks for your input.

I am starting with 2 pounds, and only for 20 minute sessions.

If my idea is correct that hanging with a small weight (2 to 4 lbs) is similar to extending with a 1000g to 2000g extender, then I will gradually increase the duration of the sessions, keeping the weight at two pounds for now.

I also thought about some sort of pulley under the desk. I think what I will do is use a small eye screw screwed into the underside of the desk and pass a piece of nylon line through it. The nylon should have little friction on the eye screw. Then I will attach a weight to one end of the nylon line, and the other end to a cord that I can tie to the sock. I am going to try that today.

Awesome! I've been looking for information on hanging, but was afraid because of the cost and the whole idea of it. I found MaleHanger for $35.00 + shipping (if anyone has information on this device it would be greatly appreciated).

A weakness i found in the Captains Wench is the cable cuff or clamp. But last weekend at the auto parts store I bought an E-Z Clamps. Its a hose clamp with a large plastic wing nut style driver. This helps to pulse push and get a better rounder grip, that is tight enough to hold but not to tight to be uncomfortable. The product number is EZ36BK hope this helps some guys to hang in more comfort.

English is my 3 language and I try to understand what "Between The Cheeks" exactly means.

I have use google translate but don't get a picture i my head what it exactly means. I got confused because I see BTC and SD the same, and I dont think thats likely so can some one please explain this for me or link to some picture or info that can :)

Straight down is like your standing and it just hangs. Between the cheeks is like you are laying down on your back, the hanger and your dick go down past the balls and between your butt cheeks.

Start off by imagining the position of your pelvis when you are standing up or sitting straight up in a chair. It will be facing forward and perpendicular to the floor.

If you hang in that position you are hanging straight down or SD.

Now imagine you are lying down on the floor with your legs straight out ... or better still ... lying out flat and floating 3 feet above the floor. In that position your pelvis will be facing up to the roof and parallel to the floor.

If you hang in that position your dick will literally be hanging between the cheeks or BTC.

Some guys sit in a chair and lean back, tilting their pelvis upwards and taking them away from SD and a little closer to BTC. Sometimes they'll elevate their feet to assist.

To achieve a true BTC I like to:

  • sit right on the end of one weight bench and attach the hanger;
  • lie back flat on the bench;
  • and put my legs / feet up on another bench of exactly the same height.


In that way I am truly parallel to the floor and the weight is hanging freely between the cheeks ... a true BTC.

I guess the crucial part to think about is which way your pelvis is facing ... forward (SD), upward (BTC), or 45 degrees (really a blend of the two ... but most would also call this BTC).

I've have just invested in a Bib Starter and currently reading up with regards to hanging. My question is based on the correct starting weight. I currently extend using a JES which has 2800g springs and equivalent to 6 1/4 pounds. So what weight should I start at?

I took a little break from hanging, and lost a small amount of length. Am I more likely to gain that length back relatively fast since I already had it, or will it be just as hard as any other length gain?

Also the crimps that form in collagen probably have some to do with it.

Some people have reported that it has given them minimal girth gains, but there's specific techniques to help build a thicker base girth while hanging.

Hi guys. Just started hanging today with only 2.5x15mins for three sets. I completed JP90 with great girth gains but No length gains. So here I am. I want to continue to gain girth if I can so my question is: of I hang during the day can I at least continue my jelq routine at night? I ask only cus I've read not to do girth exercises of you are hanging.?

If you want length, you need to forget about girth for now. The larger your circumference is, the more resistant it will be to mechanical stretching.

Thank you for answering - especially so promptly. I'm going to read everything I can tonight but if I could, one more question: should I use an ADS (1lb golf weight) throughout the day? Or wait until I am more experienced?

Thats maybe why I gain so slow, I have 5,9inch at the shaft and 5,71 inch at the middle and 5,71 inch under de glans. And my glans is thick too.

I hang max 14lbs and the lowest 10lbs round 10-12h/week BTC and SD, some times I use a anti turtle silicon sleeve.
