I’m new here I literally just found this, I never had a complaint about my size always around 6” … I’m 42 now and last march my body blew up with 40lbs of water, my balls were the size of a grapefruit no bs, I went to hospital and found out I got kidney disease, it took me around 2 months of diuretics to lose the weight , anyway I’ll get to the point, me and my girlfriend haven’t had sex in over a year, I didn’t even get hard one because I was sick and my health wasn’t good, when I got back to feeling myself again and going back to the gym, taking my testosterone I started getting hard again but my dick shrunk, it must of lost half length of what it was, even when I get hard now I think how the hell does your dick just shrink like that so I started reading on it and yes it could shrink from not getting hard and not using it, so I need a pump or something to get my size back… I’m hoping that since it was one size and shrunk to another that it should be easy to get back to where I was or even bigger…. I’m thinking of buying a pump but there so many different options, figure I’ll ask you guys that been here and know more then me can point me in the right direction…… thank you

Welcome to the forums Shotta609. You have had some serious health problems. It sounds like you could be dealing with poor erection quality, or some form of reduced libido and erectile dysfunction, rather than atrophy, but it's just impossible to know for sure. You say you lost about half the erect length, but are your erections as hard and thick as they always were?

Have you and your girlfriend tried to have sex yet? Could the problem be just a lack of normal sexual activity?

Have you considered talking to your doctor about this? It might be worth consulting your doctor about trying a PDE-5 inhibitor like Viagra, Cialis, or the newest one I think which is Stendra? But with your health problems you would want to be sure to get your doctor's approval.

There are anecdotal reports that pumping and/or even manual exercises can help restore circulation and extend atrophied tissues after long periods of illness and disuse. If you try any of those things it's totally experimental and should be done in moderation with a graduated approach to test for effects.

Hopefully some others will chime in here. Activity in the forums has been slow for a while. Hang in there and best of luck. Let us know how things develop.

I’m actually embarrassed to even try sex with my girlfriend at this point, we been together for 6 years and the last year or 2 we been at each others throats a lot of the time so neither of us have wanted it I think but even if we did I would be embarrassed, idk how this happened, I think first step I’m going to get a pump of some sort to see if I can atleast get back to where I was I just need to find one that’s good

Welcome to the forum!

There's a lot to take in, but feeling comfortable with yourself in from of your GF is going to be important if you want to perform with as little stress as possible.

Seeking out a medical professional as recommended by Mr. G above would be the best thing you could do at this time. That way, you'll know what you're working with.

What kind of doctor handles things like this?

A general practitioner or family physician could prescribe Cialis, Viagra, or Stendra to see if these meds would help get a fully expressed erection. They can also help with a referral to a urologist who can give a more thorough evaluation and offer more specialized knowledge. A urologist would also have knowledge about how your kidney disease may have caused problems within your system that could be contributing to your issues, and might even be able to offer guidance on the use of a pump or make other recommendations.

You took a very hard hit on many levels during this illness, plus the relational issues with your girlfriend. A visit with a urologist would give a more clear and confident picture of causes and should rule some things out. If there's something specific going on that can be treated, they would be the ones to know.

You can always self-experiment with a pump too and see if that helps. It's really your call. Let us know how things develop for you.
