Might want to compare Bathmate and Penomet

I am currently pumping with a Penomet, but I'm considering purchasing a Bathmate X30 as a comparison. I'm not saying that I'm unhappy with the Penomet, but I would like a reference point. My biggest concern about the Bathmate has been the water retention that it often mentioned. Everything that I had read indicated that water retention was not much of an issue at all with the Penomet, which was one of the reasons I settled on that to begin with. But I've also read a lot of good things about the Bathmate. The X30 is about half the price of the Penomet and offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. Since the Penomet has a 365-day money-back guarantee, I chose the Penomet, but I'm thinking that it might be a good idea to get and use the Bathmate for a few weeks and then decide which one to keep. I'm still trying to decide. Anyone have any thoughts?

They work on the same principle and they are pretty much the same size, so without leakage the difference in the pressure obtained will be much the same, some simple math calculations will help you there :)
But really its like buying the iPhone 5 or the Samsung Galaxy s3, each tries to market theirs so it looks better but really they are much the same

Whoa, hold up.

The iPhone 5 and the S3 are not the same at all.

All you get with the iPhone 5 is a marginally better resolution screen, and a new port that doesn't work with your old peripherals. And a controlled environment.

The S3 has a slightly worse screen, NFC, better hardware, an open environment, a bigger screen, a standard micro USB port, a removable battery, more ram etc etc.

sorry...there's no comparison there. Like comparing a Buick to a Ferrari.

(I don't own either device, but I do develop for Android)

I don't necessarily agree with your opinion (iOS vs Android), but you make a very good point. And I think it further goes to personal preference, right? That one person could see the two options as being nearly identical, while someone else picks up on the subtle but possibly important differences which makes one stand above the other. Which makes me think that if I'm questioning my loyalty to the Penomet, maybe I should get a Bathmate to do a personal comparison. After all, they both have a money-back guarantee, and if the Bathmate wins the duel, it'll have saved me more than $100. More thinking to do, I guess.

Thanks for the input, guys!

I am not saying they are the exact same I am just saying they are much the same, obviously there are differences on the mirco scale but the product as a whole are pretty similar. I don't think if I took your iPhone and and gave you an s3 in return you would be outraged, and vice versa. And the same goes for a BM and Penomet.

If you train hard enough you will get results from either device, that is all I am saying.

I am not getting into and Apple v Samsung argument because I dont care, both companies are stinking rich and they are still not happy. Immoral people :)

The BM can produce more suction according to this video.

Thanks for the link. I did 10 minutes with the 80 gaiter on the Penomet today, which is the highest suction level. I can't say that it actually felt stronger than the 70 or 75 gaiter. Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if the interchangeable gaiter system is just a gimmick and that they are all essentially the same pressure.

What benefits do air pumps have over hydro pumps?
The use of air pumps is not limited to the bathroom. Some air pumps (Harbor Freight brake bleeder for example) can also be used with water and it has a vacuum gauge.

Good points. For some reason I've always been leery of air pumps. Not sure why.

That video is pretty helpful. And it demonstrates what I've been wondering. I still haven't ordered a bathmate yet, but I'm still strongly considering it. I realized one thing I don't like about the penomet is how you really don't get much of a "pump"ing. It's really just establishing the initial pressure and you're done. Whereas it seems like the bathmate has more of a "pump"ing mechanism. Plus, I think the markings on the bathmate are a lot more readable. And the penomet takes up a lot of space with all of the gaiters. I'm really leaning toward ordering the bathmate, trying it for a couple weeks, and as long as it is as good as the penomet, returning the penomet and saving $100. Plus, I'm never going to grow so large that I need what the penomet can accommodate, so it seems a bit wasteful with that too.

I decided that all of my Penomet concerns were obviously justified, so I'm working on returning it. Unfortunately, the website form for returns under their money-back guarantee doesn't work. A product manager from the company posts over at GLL and someone else was having the same problem with returning it, so he posted the email address to contact. So I sent off an email and will wait patiently to see what happens.

I believe he said thatif you already have a bathmate, then stay with it, and if you don't have a bathmate, then to with the penomet. So basically he said new users should get the penomet

And @ Captain Jack, so you know for sure they all of the gaitors are the same pressure?
i find that hard to believe, but I do think the whole not selling the gaitors separately is a big scam into getting you to buy the bigger package. I emailed them about it and they claimbed that they used to sell the, separately but nobody bout em. Probably a lie. I still may buy a penomet though

No, I'm not saying that they ARE the same pressure. I was saying that I couldn't tell a difference in the pressure. The more I use the Penomet, though, the more I think the main problem is that the tube is as wide as it is. I'm not very girthy (5" MSEG), so I think that maybe the Penomet--being basically the same width as the Goliath--is just too big for someone like me to start out with. I don't think that the Penomet is a bad product, in fact I bet it's awesome for guys who start out bigger or guys who have made some significant gains already, but I think it's just too much for me right now.

For me, Penomet felt stronger, but that's just me.

Buying a Bathmate X30 today!

Mulling over both for a few days, the X30 just feels like the smarter choice. The Penomet looks AWESOME, however it's still new and they already have a new version just around the corner set for release in May...

Since I am not HUGE by any means, the Penomet looks a bit out of proportion for me. Just personally, I feel like the X30 is more adequate and I like the idea of one gaiter and it being tested and proven by many.

Will be sure to post how things go :)
