Years ago this holiday was not called Memorial Day. Rather it was called Decoration Day. It was meant to pay tribute to those who had given their lives in the service of our country. It was intended for all to go to a military cemetary and place a flag, a flower, or just say a prayer for what others have done for us. My prayers are with all of them!

Happy Memorial Day everyone!
With a particular thank you to all the vets that we have here at the PEGym and in remembrance of all those friends and family members that we have lost.
God Bless.

A belated yet heart-felt "Thank You" to all our veterans, both those who are here and those who are gone.
Not everyone remembers what Memorial Day is supposed to be all about, but many of us do.
Thank you!!!

Reunited with his dear wife Holly.
Thank you Pirate and thanks to all who served.

May I make one suggestion as to the past posts about Memorial day?

It always kind of sticks in me to hear "Happy Memorial Day." There is nothing happy about this day.
Could we just say, "Have a safe and thoughtful day of remembrance on this Memorial Day"?
from now on?

This is weird. I said that very thing the other day and after I said it my thought was "why is it a happy day? People died and we're remembering the fallen who gave their lives for freedom".......

So, to that effect I will say "Have a safe and thoughtful day of remembrance for those who have served and currently serve our great nation".

An inch and 1/2 deeper than before
I was in the Navy and 364 days a year I make jokes about some of the other branches. Not today. Today we are one ( as always ) so enjoy your friends in the military, do something nice for there families if they are gone away from home and remember those who never came home. It is they and those who serve now that enable us to have the freedoms we do.
