My husband and I use Astroglide(water based) with anal.

We do have some that we started out using that has lidocaine in it, but we no longer use it.

I think the reason they are promoting not having lidocaine as an ingredient(besides just getting you to buy their brand) is that if you aren't familiar with anal, using a lube with lidocaine, and trying it, could be slightly dangerous as the lidocaine does numb enough to take the edge off inital penetration.

Thanks for the reply SLU, I went with the eros silicon lube because it has lidocaine in it and after doing some googling it turns out that the WaterGlide didn't. I decided to get the PREMIUM version of the eros lube though lol

Because it will be our first time I thought that the lidocaine would make it easier for my girlfriend, not only from a physical point of view but also from a psychological point of view because if she knows that there is anaesthetic in the lube she will hopefully be more relaxed as she won't be stressing out about the possible pain of anal.

But I do appreciate that the numbing effect of the lidocaine could mask any tearing so I will be careful and mindful of that.

In regards to positions I need some advice from more experienced members. I presume that doggie is the easiest, but since it will be our first time I would like to be able to see my girlfriend's face in order to gauge her reaction and to make sure that it isn't hurting her.
