Totally not his age... He's just a big ol' stick in the mud LOL!

MBD, you hang around me long enough, you'll want to do SOMETHING to your car. If it's nothing more than an intake system to improve breathing to improve your mileage and adjusting your fuel trims and ignition curve to save fuel and improve power... :D

I promise I will never post in here again. But I have to say I love reading you guys do this car talk.
I love cars too if that helps. My first car was a 240z 1971 delivered to my house when I was 14 , in 1981, on blocks. I took it apart to rebuild. Even did all the priming to get it ready for its paint job. I finally turned 15 and got my learners permit. First day home I put on the rear louvers and pulled out of the driveway.
I was supposed to go pick up my friend, who was 18 and licensed so I could legally drive, and turn left. But because there was a hot guy at the gas station I took a right. I crashed at the end of that road. Wasn't my fault but you see men, always getting me in trouble. Or is it me getting me in trouble lol
I have had every nissan z since. My dad has a 1976 vette that was supposed to be mine but now is earmarked for my son. Yea right!

Anyway glad you boys have this thread. In particular, because of my current condition lol, I find some of the talk really sexy.

Bye bye :)

I have ZERO idea what you just said.........nope, no adjusting anything. Like I said, I get it, start it, I go.......that's really all I need my car to do.

BOOOOOOOO!

*chases you off with a Pitchfork make of smog*

Speaking of polution and all that, I am REALLLLLLLLLLY interested in those new hybrid cars. I'm a performance guy but I'd REALLY love for these companies to embrace the REAL hybrid style cars or what is known as Extended Range Electric Vehicles.

EREV's built like the Chevy Volt... Those are sexy! There's another manufacturer out there called Fisker. Fisker's Karma is so effing sexy, it's fast and it gets upward of 100mpg. They're still trying to get it to come out, but it's taking forever. I hope he hasn't disappeared and blown the billions of dollars he's raised to bring this car out!

I've been waiting for this car for... hmmm more than a year now. I can't wait!

I HATE hybrids. Their overly priced, the batteries they derive their electric power from are TERRIBLE for the environment and they just aren't cool..............IMO.

OK, here's a little beef I have. Why do people insist on taking a car..........from say the 70's or early 80's and put really cheesy aftermarket wheel covers on them? I saw what I believe to have been a '77 or '78 Lincoln Town Car (or Continental, not sure which one it was) and not only was it lowered (good God man, WHY do people do that to cars????) and it had these friggin cheesy ass plastic wheel covers on it!!! WHAT the fuck???

I'm an OEM kinda guy. My '79 Ford has OEM parts on it or NOS parts on it. I want it to look JUST like it did when it rolled off the assembly line in May of 1979.

now if you recycle the battery materials they arent bad. now i think whats really gonna take off are diesel turbo
hybrids youll have great fuel economy with good power and great economical benefits. my question is there are more efficent ways for internal combustion motor such as the coates rotary valve cylinder head which uses no oil no valves or spring which reduces parasitic loss. couple that with diesel turbo hybrids and you'll get over 200mpg. its all about parasitic loss which reduces efficentcy. only way to really be Eco friendly is reduce most parasitic loss which means ceramic coating pistons, the block, the turbo all that to keep combustin tenps in and use the diesels approach to combustion which is using compression for combustion. but on a turbo gas motor then your talking bout eco friendly

Man, every time you fill up your gas hog, just remember these pics

Oil is just as bad for the environment.

I'd much rather try to recycle lithium ion than to continuously pull oil out of the ground... You know there's more than 1000 oil spills a year?

Yea, they range in size and many of them do kill the animals in that habitat. Everytime there's an oil spill those pictures should jump in your head.

I'm all about getting off oil. if it can be done with lithium, for now, i'm all for it. There's many other technologies still being considered. at one point they were talking about Flywheel Generation Technology. (weighted pendulums spin at ridiculously high speeds inside of a vacuum chamber across electrodes. you put power to it and the blades spin. and when you ask for power their inertia can act like generators across the electrodes.

It was fascinating technology to me. Any way to make power capable of getting consistent and reliable energy i'm all for. I'd rather be done with Oil and focus on EVs.

You know what I find funny. most cars a tuned to drink MORE gas than they really should. a bit of tuning here and there you can pull some fuel, and adjust timing.

You'll end up getting more horsepower, more torque, and even REDUCING your fuel consumption. OEM isn't always best :D

Also, Hybrids not cool?!

Not Cool?! Did you look at the Fisker Karma?!?! The Convertible 2 door?! The only thing cooler than that car is an Aston-Martin, no doubt.

The 2012 GT500 are pretty sweet. But I just love how the camaros look.

But once I start making bank I am thinking about getting the Nissan GTR.

for the price of a gtr id just get a rossion q1 which will stomp a gtr in the corners at least. the the launch control is outta this world but the rossion does the same 0-60 with much less help from computers. and any nods the rossion will react better due to the low 2400 pound curb weight. i like the rossion cause its raw human engineering done right instead of gobs of computer management just to get it to launch right. plus the rossions uses a 3.0l Ford duratec so gettin aftermarket parts for the motor are much much cheaper
