Like I said, all you can do is sit on the sidelines and watch. Trust me, I've got a great friend who's an incredible woman and mother and is married to a HUGE asswipe. I've disliked the guy since day one. He's loud, rude, drinks too much, has cheated on her, has treated her like sh*t for the last 11 years they've been together and I've sat there just listening to her bitch about him. I tell her a pile of dog sh*t has more character than he does and yet she continues to stay with him. Your friend will either get drug down into his pathetic existence OR she'll pull herself up and move on and leave his loser ass behind.

Let's hope she knows what the right thing to do is. I can't imagine why your friend is still with that guy. Maybe it's for her children.

Being around the loser does MORE damage to her kids than she realizes. Unfortunately, her self esteem is such that she doesn't think she'll ever get anyone else so she just puts up with it. She doesn't even wear her wedding ring...........how fucked up is that??

The difference between my friend and yours, mine is WAY old enough to know better. Yours I'm sorry to say is still a "kid" and as I stated earlier, has ALOT of growing up to do. Hopefully she realizes the error of her ways and she'll ditch him before she gets really seriously involved with him.

I understand what you are saying. But girls should know that you can't change a person. Well I mean you can try and have high hopes it works. After a certain point girls should know "yeah this guy isn't going to change" and just move on with their lives.

Women DO believe they can change a guy. Some actually work at it and some just wait hoping he will realize the pain he is causing and will change. Women that stick around long term are usually emotionally/mentally abused. They are told no one will want them, they are ugly, they will never be able to make it with the kids on their own, they are lucky to them, no one will put up with their ass and so on.

Yes, women do think they can change a guy. Movies, TV, soap operas, music and books reinforce this. Horrible guy becoming a good guy because of a woman's love and support.

eh ... that's the thing. It can't just be from the guys necessarily. I believe the women must really be the catalyst and allow guys to show good manners. I see it all the time myself. If I'm walking into a store and I hold a door open for a woman my age or older, I'm greeted with pleasantness and quite often a "thank you." With these young girls now, when I do that, they look weird and giggle or even ruder, don't say anythig at all. Tried once to open a taxi door (that was right in front of me) for a young girl, she actually got pissed: "I can open my own damn door!" Okay then ...

The parents and mentors of these young ladies need to show them how a lady should act and the girls actually need to listen. The gus as well need to listen and learn. Ine thing that I've found in my life is that proper manners and politness can take you sooooo much further in lofe over nearly anything else.

I totally agree some are just totally rude and don't even thank you for opening the door for them. This one time some hot girl was 10 meters away from the door and walking really slow. I decide I'll have the door open for her. So she walks really slow and finally gets to the door, looks at me for 5 seconds and then walks away. Doesn't even smile or give me a dirty look and she wasn't on the phone.

I see a lot of women looking at me on the streets (brief glimpses maybe 3-5 seconds). Is that normal or am I over analysing?

I would have to agree with this. It also depends on how fucked up a woman's prior relationships/marriage was. If she was emotionally abused and such and a great guy comes along, chances are she's not going to know HOW to respond to being treated with respect and love and she's going to flip out on your trying to be chivalrous or a nice guy with her. I don't mean flip out like a shouting, screaming match but in her own way, panic mode will set in because she isn't used to being treated like a person and rather like a festering bowl of dog snot.

We're not a dying breed. Like some said here, girls go with the jerks because they think they can change them for the better and settle down. I've seen it in real life not only from personal experience and I've seen it on the Jeremy Kyle show.

So anyways now I'm facing a new problem. I like my friends friend. She's really funnny, smart and great looking. I tried to approach her but she seemed a bit nervous so I decided to add her on Facebook. She accepted and I tried to talk to her and I said "Hey It's me [name] I'm [mutal friends name] friend and we met up today you alright?"

It took her nearly 20 minutes to reply and all she said was "Hi" and then logged out. I thought maybe she would be busy but I found her twitter and she makes tweets such as "I hate boys who call me and don't ask" or "If you're a boy and you call me more than once a day - SADDD."

I've also heard she has an attraction to black guys (I'm not black) so I was wondering should I just walk away and save myself the heartache or should I just do what I can do with her? My friends said to work slowly with her and we can start going. The sad thing is I've been stuck in the friend zone 3 times using this approach. What should I do?

Don't use facebook to try and get a girl.
Just be upfront with her... go up to her and ask her out. If she says no, then whatever... who cares.

Like your friend said - take it slow. If she's interested, she'll warm to you. If not, it won't take long to figure it out.
FB is always a BAD move to try to get close ...

And apparently going from FB to relationship back to FB doesn't work so well either as I've found......
