Should extenders always rest at the base of the penis?

When I fasten my extender and lie down, the base ring of it hangs about an inch from the pubic base. Is this normal, or should it always be pressed into the flesh? Am I doing something wrong?

the base needs to press against your body in order to create the tension needed to stretch your penis

yeah, how do you create the tension?
Do you have some crazy base girth?

I just put it on and pull the head through the noose and that's it. Ive read through tons of instructional things but I can't figure the whole thing out.

You need to give a better description of what you are doing and how it "hangs" an inch from the base. I don't get it.

Give a demonstration. Can you scan a drawing or even take a picture?

Well, I push it into my skin then fasten it. Then when my penis drops downwards because it's flaccid either the top part of the base ring hangs in the air and the bottom part pushes into my skin, or vice-versa with top pushed in with the bottom hanging out. Is this supposed to happen or should I feel both the top and bottom of the base ring at all times?

ah I get it. as long as you get tension on it you're on the right track. the base plate doesn't need to be flat against your body. one side usually digs in and one side tends to have a gap

Ah. What should I feel to know I have proper tension?

I don't know how to gauge the actual weight in grams but I feel it down the shaft, there's pressure in the head but you have to play with it till you get the tension right for you. I'm going with the I can feel it there, its a lil uncomfortable but not painfull. At different times you can feel it in different area's. stick with it tho its a skill but one worth mastering from what I've seen.

Most extenders are spring loaded. One compresses the extender, fastens in, releases the extender & the springs apply a pulling force to provide tension/pull/stretch force.

Most have an adjusting mechanism where one turns the adjusting screws/knobs, and more length is achieved, to increase tension. Penis's will relax in an extender after the first 20 minutes or so, resulting in less tension being applied. It is up to the wearer to adjust accordingly.

Some extenders come with an assortment of additional rod lengths to "build" the extender to a length more suitable to their penis length.

A few extenders have etched lines on the rods to give an approximate reading of the grams of tension.

It sounds like your extender is too short.

Yeah I screwed in a couple of the extra length rods and it's perfect now. Thanks, everyone!
