Every 60 seconds.

Seriously, limit it to once a month minimum. The effect PE has on your unit as a whole is much more important than the millimeter you may gain a month. It happens over TIME. Be smart, don`t hurt yourself, and look where you are a year from now.

Once every 4 to 6 weeks.
When I first started, I measured every week or two.

When I started it was every time I was edging haha. Now I'm down to once or twice a week.. in a few months when gains slow some more I think it would be more like every 2 weeks to a month.

Twice a month is probably fine, once a month is OK too. Record all your measurements... BPEL, BPFSL, EG, and EQ at least.

What you need to do is keep a log of every workout. Then you record measurements. You can then see how your routine correlates to your measurements. Once you start to figure out what helps you gain the most, you can adjust your routine.

Don't underestimate BPFSL; often these gains come before BPEL gains... and usually they imply BPEL gains are "in the pipeline"

Whatever you do, DO NOT measure frequently...........you'll drive yourself insane.............as strokerace69 said, this is a process that happens over time. Once every few months or once every 6 months is totally sufficient.

i measured yesterday 2 weeks after i began to PE....and got a BPEL gain of 0.5cm going from 17.6cm to 18.1cm.....anything more frequent than every 2 weeks in my opinion is too obsessive....and plus it will drive u insane..as long as its growing who cares :)

It's hard not to measure since I'm still getting newbie gains. I'm going to wait a full 2 weeks before I measure again and after that I'm going to try and keep bumping it up.

I measure once every whenever I feel like it. This tends to become once every 5-7 weeks. I don't focus on measuring or anything because I am the type of person who can and will become discouraged if the results aren't showing up on the ruler, so I focus my energy on being consistent rather then what my size is.
When I first started out, I was measuring my BPFSL daily, and other things pretty frequently as well.

See, I measure frequently. Every two weeks. If nothing changes, it's whatever. After two measurements.... yeah, discouraged but not totally pissed yet. Three? Pissed off... Four? Time to change stuff up. That gives me about two months worth.
PLUS I can tell if something is working and don't need to add more on. For instance, I was PEing two days ago. Felt awesome... could have kept going. I stopped because I had measured, grown, and I knew that the workload I have now is working.

You know I stopped measuring about 8 months ago. I have a routine, change it up every once in a while, take some rest days and somehow when I look down I just know it's bigger! I figure if I keep at it then whatever potential growth I'll have I'll get and it just makes things healthier!

HAHA!! measuring is an addiction bro!!
Measure after every month of PE!!
Throw away any rulers or tapes in ur home as the temptation would arise!!
U will be waiting for the measuring day and Boom!! Gains!!
If no gains! at least u know that u must change ur routine!!
Watched kettle never boils!

Every two weeks. Make sure my gains are in the direction of my routine emphasis. If not, change slightly and measure again in two weeks. I see measuring as the sure way to get feedback on the effectiveness of your routine.

I measure every workout.
I would say people should measure more often this way they know if they are gaining or not.
If not gaining or only making minimal gains then you are evidently doing something wrong and why would you want to wait 6 months to find out.
