moving to america

so im 19 i live in ireland . and in about 7-8 months time i am planing on moving to florida to join wrestling..
and start training as i know people in the wwe like sheamus from when he was in ireland he was my trainer before he went to the usa. so i plan to follow in his path it will take me like 6-7 years i am sure but it will work out.
my question is the cost of living dear over there like to rent a room, and what are the jobs like will it be really hard for me to find work .

Well, the USA is a great place to live but it is really big and living costs and conditions vary a lot across it. Florida is a long way from me but I am pretty sure that a number of our members live there. You might post a thread saying "Do you live in Florida? I'm planning to move there!"

I don't know about Florida's economy but here in the Carolinas jobs are tough to find. Theres so many people out of work that if you run a help wanted ad your over run with applicants.
Don't get me wrong there are job's around, you just have to compete for them now. There are quite a few guys here from Florida, if you could give them a rough area in which you are looking, they could probably give you a local report. Good luck Karl!

The only thing I know about Florida is it's hot and humid in the summer, the bugs are huge and they do get hurricanes there.

Don't know about the job market there....................maybe you can look at craigslist to see what might be out there. You can also sign up with a temp agency and maybe they could help you. Good luck and invest in bug spray!!

Oh goodness! That's insane man! You're going to be a couple hours drive away from me!
But as far as the jobs go I'll be honest with you; it is fucking TOUGH to find a job in Florida. We get so many immigrants from Haiti, Cuba, Mexico, South America, Dominican Republic, New York (domestic), and everywhere else. So the job pool is very small and there's a lot of people swimming in it. Seeing as how you're going to be around Clermont, you might have better luck out there for housing because it is rather cheap the farther away you are from the bigger cities (but I don't know for sure), but then again jobs out there might be harder to find. You can PM me if you want to find out some more information!
Also, TNA Wrestling (not sure if you know it) is based out of Universal Studios in Orlando, FL which incidentally isn't too far from where you're going to be.

yes i know of tna well.
like i am going to bring over 10,000 euro with me.
first thing i have to do is find a place to sleep, sure maybe a room mate that way i can make friends and wont feel like a total loser ha.
then as mrbigdick said sign to an agency, but im sure i will have to change my cv around as its prob different in ireland to america.
then when i have all that sorted i can join wrestling. and hopefully start my life over there..
i dont know why but i have always been told the best place to live is at home meaning your own country ie ireland for me.
but i never tought that there is always something draging me to move to the usa.
sure if i got a place job friends and a girl why the hell move back to ireland then.

Karl, one important thing to remember is that you may need the right kind of visa and work authorization in order to legally get a job here. Make sure you look into that as soon as possible. It is of course possible to get hired without being legal about it, but those are often the worst jobs. Much better if you can work legally and look for something that suits you.

very true what is the longest visa you can get 1 year as far as i know. and im sure that will cost alot of money ..

Karl, I've been to Ireland and the cost of living in Florida isn't close to what it is in Ireland. That being said, we're in a touch economy right now so jobs might be tough to come by (depends on your education and training). Also, how are you planning on doing this? Will you be going through a citizenship process or getting a VISA? Have you thought about taking classes in the US, it might be easier to do things this way. I'm not sure wrestling school would count.

well man i was planing on stayin there a year and brining 10,000 euro with me or there about.
so a year visa would be great if i could get that.
but sure if things went well there i prob would want to spend longer there.
so on average how much would it cost to rent a room.
and what is the closest airport to where i am stayin sorry for these questions.

Visas are not simple; it is not about money (well, not all about money) -- if you don't already have a visa or know exactly what you will be applying for, you better not assume that you'll get a visa at all. Tourist visas are easy, but not student visas (J-visas) or other kinds (H-visas or other kinds that allow you to work). Look into it now, Karl!
