What's the deal?!?!

As a 37 year old guy, I find myself still amazed at the fact that I still can't get women. I'm not saying I'm completely ignorant or green, but there are still two or three topics concerning those gorgeous beings of the opposite sex that still make me scratch my head. For instance, why would a woman dress a certain way to bring attention to certain areas of her anatomy, then want to curse you for looking at them? I not talking about some construction worker-style gawking amd whistling - nothing like that. A simple gaze in pure admiration.

To explain, I'm walking out of Wal-Mart and as I'm headed to my car, a stunningly gorgeous woman is walking in the opposite direction headed into the store. Now, it's hot today - real damn hot - and she has on lycra biker shorts and matching halter top. Nothing out of the ordinary - except that her breasts are in the neighborhood of a FIRM 40D (possibly DD), slim waist with washboard abs, and an ass like Cherokee D'Ass (if you've never seen her ass or don't know who she is, just Google her - wow!!!). The site was enough to make you stop in your tracks - as many men did that were in position to see her - black, white, latino, asain - it didn't matter. And what does she do? She starts berating all within earshot for staring?!?! How could you not marvel at stare and apperciate a pure beauty? And later, when I'm walking into 7-11, almost the same scenario, except this woman was probably in her late 50s - she looked a lot like Jennifer Anniston but her body could have held its own against the young lady at Wal-Mart. The guys stared and she went off! She was wearing bikini top and cut off shorts that looked more like a thong!!! Pretty funny but I couldn't figure out why she was so mad?

I see that all the time and makes me wonder "if you don't want the attention, why wear things that are certain to draw attention? ESPECIALLY when you have a body that could make a man litetally cry? Any insights?

Well, the only thing I can say is that maybe they weren't dressing that way to "bring attention to certain areas" but just to be comfortable on a hot day.

Maybe the one in lycra had been biking, and maybe the lady in the bikini was going to the pool. Just as a guy will take his shirt off to be comfortable on a hot day -- not to try to get people to look at his chest -- ladies may sometimes dress to please themselves with no intention of trying to achieve anything other than their own comfort. If the lady is gorgeous, why do men always assume she wants sexual attentions from strangers? If a lady is overweight and in lycra, I'll bet you don't assume she dressed for male attention.

Anyway, I'll be that drop-dead gorgeous women sometimes get fed up with being stared at, and on a hot day when they are getting a lot of it, they may just lose their tempers. Yes, maybe they should expect the male attention they get. But that doesn't mean they always have to be patient about it!

I like to completely ignore such women once in a while. It is hilarious when you manage to do it, it takes supreme will & concentration.

Some of them think they are malfunctioning, you can see the look of bemusement.

There are some women who get what you are doing & they will go to any length to make you look - just so they can 'Win'.

I once ignored this stunning but arrogant woman (I only do this when I sense arrogance) in a supermarket, she did not like it & kind of pursued me through the isles until I eventually gave in & looked, whereupon she did this kind of sneer & left.

I'm sure its the same the world over- you cannot tell which ones are raving lunatics until they open their mouths and speak. Don't want to sound crude, but if they sound rough, they probably are rough. And the chicks that are/were nice girls but try to sound rough? Give them a big swerve.

I've never had a woman go off on me life that, then again, I try NOT to stare at them, regardless of how hot she looks, unless of course her back is to me and if she's hot enough, yeah, I'll give a good glance at her. I work for the local courthouse and one day, I was observing some hearings going on in one of the courtrooms. Anyway, this drop dead gorgeous blond attorney gets up, approaches the counsel table and tells the judge why her client should be awarded a judgement against the defendant (this is known as a Default-Prove Up hearing). As she's talking, I'm was just in awe. Not only was she HIGHLY educated and knew her sh*t but DDDAAAAYYYYUUUMMMM was she fine as all hell. The term "man eater" came to mind........I would NOT want to fuck with her (unless we're talkin' in bed that is).

But, I tend to agree with the initial post, if you don't want the attention, don't dress to show off the goods.

True BW, and I'm not saying they dreseed like that for sexual attention - or to get any attention at all BUT - when you have a body that you MUST know will attract that type of attention, why not tone it down a bit? And you have to admit - some do it specifically for that reason. You bring up males going shirtless - it's no big deal cause society allows such and really - who wants to look at another guy's chest? :becky: But women - your bodies were made for attention and your bodies are beautiful!! All I'm sayin is that you don't put on 6inch heels and makeup to go grocery shopping cause you think it's comfortable. You can look great and dress modestly at the same time. But you can't expect any straight man to not stare when you look the way you look and dress the way you dress. And if a woman happens to have breasts the size of cantelopes :becky: and wants to put them in lycra, she's got to know attention is coming her way - whether she's doing it for comfort or not.

My girl did that the other night. We went out to dinner, and had to stop at Wal-Mart (of all places) to pick up groceries for the next day. I had on a nice button-up and khakis, while she went a little more extravagant with 6 inch black heels (I'm assuming 6 inch, maybe 4...hey, I guess girls aren't the only ones who can't guess size right), a short skirt, and a tight black shirt.

It's not like she wanted to look like that when she went grocery shopping, it just kind of happened. I felt out of place for both of us and couldn't help but notice the disgusted looks we were getting by fellow shoppers, especially female. Worst of all, this was in Utah, Mormon capital of the world.

Well, I am sure there are women who dress up on purpose and like the staring.... or dress up on purpose, then have a cow about it. There is no telling tastes, and women surely do some strange things. I guess I would go with MrBD's approach -- take a look and enjoy, but no outright staring (or drooling). Unless, of course, you get some positive signals from the lady that she actually wants it. I think a little subtlety may go a long way. In general, I think women almost always consider guys who oogle them openly to be immature. An appreciative but respectful glance (or glances) may make a better impression on the lady.

Yeh - I totally agree. I make sure I try to keep my saliva to myself and not let the glance linger too long. I did a pretty hard double take once on a woman when she stepped on the elevator and I thought I'd pulled a muscle in my neck I snapped back so hard! It came out of nowhere and not my intent at all but I simply couldn't resist - everything about what I saw was amazing. My neck hurt for a couple days but it was well worth it. She got a big laugh out of it and we actually talked and had a nice conversation for a while - it was pretty cool.

I have had this happen to me. Hangin' out with a girl and a few other friends in college. Her boobs were all out. She yelled at me for staring at her boobs. I yelled back to not let the twins hang out if she didn't want guys looking at them.
