I think the worst job I did was at company that worked on power plants and mines and basically anything you can think of. This company would do sand blasting , Hydro-blasting at 10,000 PSI that could kill . Vaccuming up flyash hot or cold. Line moleing plugged up lines in all kinds of weather would it be 112 degrees or below -18 with wind chill factor of -10 no matter what the weather is. We also did labor work. my starting pay was 12.00 dollars an hour after 8 hrs was time an half so that will be 18.00 dollars. Weekends are automatically time and half. Major holidays are Triple time . After I left the Company My pay was 14.00 my time and half was 20.00 an hour.

This is what My Company that I worked for does . Sandblasting ,Hydro-blasting,painting,coating,vaccuming almost any thing that could be vaccumed.Hydro-X,Exacavtion, ect.

Start pay was $12.00 time and half was $18.00

End pay was $14.00 time and half was $ 20.00

Any mods could you please revise this so pay is first then A description of your worst job next. Thanks

I would have to go with detailing cars. I did it for a spell in my mid 20's. I made pretty good money too.........like $50-$75 per car for just a simple wash, wax and clean out the interior. I hated it because cleaning the inside of someone else's car.............let's just say some people are serious pigs with the inside's of their cars.

I did this too. But I had to deal with rich assholes buying new Hummers as well. New and used.
Some people FUCKED their cars. Those with kids, awful. Smokers who don't own a shop-vac, awful. Bleh.

My current summer job: bartender.

It's a love-hate thing for me. There are nights where I absolutely love it. Hot women, hilarious karaoke, and big tip nights. There are nights where I can clear damn near $500 in tips. I love those nights. But, I hate dealing with drunk people. We get very few regular customers because of where we are located. Mainly tourists, and a lot tourists don't know how to handle their alcohol. Kids with fake IDs, people throwing money at you and walking away (without throwing enough at you...) --- ah, it gets old sometimes. Love - hate thing...

Ah dude trust me, I saw it all. That's why I decided "screw this, no amount of money is worth this".

I could also add to this list. For about 6 months I was the office manager for a repossession company. Aside from dealing with the jerk off's who got their cars popped because they weren't making their payments, one of my duties was to clean out the cars. Some of these people, especially the ones that KNEW their cars were out for repo, would TRASH the inside of the car.............just demolish it. And I had to clean it out, itemize all the property and crap. I found all sorts of things too. Of course, this was back in the day before digital cameras were around. I found a set of polaroids from one guy who took pic's of himself in his bikini briefs complete with his beer gut posing with some hispanic hoochy mama. The pay for this job sucked and dealing with assholes who call your office screaming at you because you repossessed their car................gee, if you weren't behind on your payments Einstein, your car would still be in your driveway!!!!

My worst job is what im doin now. Arvo shift supervisor, dealing with people that dont know how to deal with others properly and treat them with respect, and getting no help from the senior staff becuase we dont exist to them, we're just an extension to their income for the company.

but the pay is good :p

Working in a health club, teaching exercise classes and showing people how to use weight machines.
What got to me was the combination of desperation, apathy, and having to clean up after sloppy/sweaty/careless people. That, and getting yelled at by rich ladies who seemed to think that their needs superseded those of everyone else.
I surely don't miss that job at all.

Bartender is a pretty fun job.

The best paying job I had was construction work. I was paid 12 bucks an hour to clean sh*t and move heavy things around. I was 17 at the time.

My sister is hooking me up with this job...I'd be a receptionist at a fancy hotel...I'd have to work night shift though, from 11 pm to 6 am...The pay would be 18 dollars per hour, which is just HUGE. I hope I get the job.

I was a bus buy at a Chinese Restaurant which was owned by an old Italian guy, the host was a fat chic and the cooks were Mexican. (no disrespect intended to any race).

It was just a screwed up place to eat and work. There wasn't even a Chinese person working there!!! I lasted 1 hour 15 minutes and then quit. The next day I got a job as a flower delivery driver in an upscale part of town. IT WAS AWESOME!!! I drove around and gave flowers to hot soccer moms all day long. I was 16 years old. Damn... I miss that job!

Im actually interested in bartending now... but that probably wouldnt be for a couple years for me... I play on finishing my business degree then taking bartending. Seems fun, but I am only taking it for the hope of one day owning my own bar or club
