I’m getting married in less than 4 weeks (December 12). The thought of it is intimidating, scary, but rewarding in the same sense. I’m madly in love and we have the best relationship. She is so perfect for me and she tells me the same. I’m so thrilled, but so damn nervous. The thoughts keep running through my head: you’re too young, it’s too soon, give it some time. Oh, how excited I am, but how nervous I am as well, and how nervous I am going to get as the most rewarding day of my life quickly approaches. Any advice guys?

You said it yourself mate. Follow your heart.

If your relationship is what you said it is, then it will be the best day of your life.

Embrace the opportunity and event and enjoy it to the max. Not everyone is lucky enough to be allowed to experience this level of joy. Congrats again PESG!!

Good Luck! I got married less than a year ago, it was such a wonderful memory. Just do whatever you need to to relax the day of...go for a run, swim, workout, jacuzzi, PE workout ;)

Reunited with his dear wife Holly.
Me and Mrs. JP got married at 19. We are still going strong. It's not the age, it's the commitment. Good luck and best wishes.

Yep, it's definately the commitment. You have to ask yourself, "Am I ready to commit?"

I know I'm ready for the commitment. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that she is the one. It's just...scary, you know?

Care to share what's so scary about it? Is it the thought of your DVR being constantly filled with hours of Bravo, Lifetime and We Channel?:D

Haha, nice one W.M.P. She does like watching The Golden Girls, but then again, I think that show is pretty funny at times. What's scary about it? It's hard to put into words. Maybe scary isn't the best word. The thought of me being...married...it just has a weird vibe to it.

but all I can say is CONGRATS PESG!

Thanks RIB!

In the end, it is nothing more than a formal title with some legal weight; what you do to make the relationship work is what will really matter when it's all said and done. I've never been married but have been as close to it as can be; however, many of my friends have been married for a while now and they all agree that in the end, getting married does not mean that there's some kind of place you've finally reached where the relationship runs on autopilot without you having to put the effort, compromise and consideration that make relationships work.

One thing I can tell you is that you guys are getting married right at the beginning of a stage of your lives (your 20's and onward) where people embark on their first, real quest for growth as they find their place as individuals in this world. Because of this, it is imperative that you 2 remain fully aware of this as you witness each other make decisions and changes that come with the task of finding yourself. Be supportive of each other's individuality, even when that means watching the other go down a tough road (career path, new job, etc) that might make for a bumpy ride, cause in the end these are the kind of experiences that will make you grow both as an individual and as a couple. Anybody can have a great relationship when Life is all fun and sh*t, but only when tested by the curve-balls of adversity is when you really find out the difference between mere infatuation and a bond that's built to last.
