Just curious. Any of you guys shooters/hunters like me? If so, Are you having the same problem finding ammo anywhere? It's so scarce around here, that when a fresh shipment shows up at wally world, its like wild dogs fighting for the same bone! Pistol rounds are especially hard to come by. This time last year, I could buy a box of target rounds for around $20 bucks. That same box today is close to $35 !!!!!! Thats if you can find it. During the campain last year, I noticed the more likely Obama came to winning, the more people started buying. And when he actually won, the frenzy started! Their is a waiting list for the concealed classes, when last year, they had trouble getting enough people to fill a class. I've heard that since the election, there will be legislation proposed, to give ammo a shelf life? Thats just one of many, that I've heard about. I guess our fears were warrented!!!!!! The NRA has named Obama, firearms salesman of the year!! Thats no sh*t!! At least that award, he deserves.

How do the Liberal Left's get around the 2nd. Amendment? The fight would be too big for their liking, to try and take away our guns. So, simple. They take away the ammunition.

Of all countries, Australia. They made it illegal to own a gun, the law abiding citizens turned in their fire arms and what was a very low per capita murder rate, increased by over 50%.
Armed home invasion robberies, 80%.

The people in government that want to take our guns, will never get guns out of the hands of crooks.
If someone comes to take my guns, there will be two people missing. The one who came and ME.

It has already started...

Ammunition Accountability Legislation

Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers.

Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $1.00or more, a brick of 22's will go up enormously!

If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.

Send to your friends in these states AND fight to dissolve this BILL!!

To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to:

Are you a democrat, republican, or southerner?

Here is a little test that will help you
decide...

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small
children. Suddenly, an Islamic terrorist with a huge knife comes around the
corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the
knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a Kimber 1911 .45 Cal ACP, and you
are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.

What do you do?

Democrat’s Answer:

Well, that's not enough information for me to answer the question!

Does the man look poor or oppressed?

Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?

Could we run away?

What does my wife think?

What about the kids?

Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his
hand?

What does the law say about this situation?

Does the gun have appropriate safety built into it?

Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, I’m a Democrat, and what kind of
message does this send to society and to my children?

Is
it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?

Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound
me?

If
I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was
stabbing me?

Should I call 9-1-1?

Why is this street so deserted?

We
need to raise taxes, have paint and weed day and make this a happier, healthier
street that would discourage such behavior.

This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for a
few days and try to come to a consensus.

Republican’s Answer:

BANG!

Southerner’s Answer:

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click..... (Sounds
of reloading)

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click

Daughter: "Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips or
Hollow Points?"

Son: "Can I shoot the next one!"

Wife: "You ain't taking that to the Taxidermist!

I didnt want to make this too political, But Damn this was funny, and I couldnt stand it!!!!!!!:D

Recently bought my wife a nice little auto pistol at a small mom and pop gun store. Pop informed me about the ammo shortage and only allowed us a single box of 50 cartridges. He said people are getting ready for the big gun round up,stocking all the ammo they can find.Damn,I hope it never comes to that.

Nice gun for a lady?

I had heard there will be an extra box on your tax returns this year asking how many firearms you own. If anyone is not a member of the NRA now is a good time to show your support if you are interested in keeping personal firearms for protection or weekend plinking.

I purchased 3 additional firearms last year along with 8000 rounds of ammo, that should hold me for a few more weeks.

On your tax return??? "WOW" I wonder what the penalty will be for having more than listed? This is typical liberal horse s%%t!!!!! Your right about joining the NRA. I was inactive myself, until the election, and I rejoined with vigor! I also encourage everyone I know to join.

8000 rounds:) Damn, I thought I went over board buying a 1000! You just made me feel better.

Well I do like to shoot, hence the screen name "Hairtrigger".

BTW stockpiling ammo that is coded will be a waist of time, they will most likely have time sensitive primers that won't work after a set amount of time.

If you've guys have never tried it, reloading is not only inexpensive compared to new ammo, its fun playing with the different loads.

What state are you in? Here in Florida, the prices of ammo have increased as well :(

Some of the elements of that bill are so outrageous that I can't see it having a hope of passing. See H.R. 45: Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 (GovTrack.us) - no sponsors and the opposition to this bill will be formidable.

For one it would make effective home defense practically impossible. That might fly in Chicago but in most other places I can't see that going down without a fight. Since I've become interested in firearms I've noticed that it's getting harder and more expensive just to maintain licensing, obtain ammo, etc. though. The trend isn't a good one :(

Its going to get worse men. I'll reitterate on the reloading. A good multi size adaptable reloader along with an ample powder and lead supply will be worth its weight in gold soon.

Your probably right. I have a couple shotgun loaders(though I havent reloaded any in years). I would have to buy a rifle/handgun loader. I havent searched for prices and availabilty of supplies for loading in a while, is it in short supply too? I had a buddy tell me that the gun range wouldnt sell him target ammo, unless he shot them their at the range. According to him, supplies from the wholesaler are extremely low, so they are hoarding them.
