I have just discovered there is not way you can get 300-500 mgs of caffeine - the dose required to reduce the likelihood of getting Alzheimer's - without drinking coffee. Check out these tables that give info on the caffeine content of various popular drinks:

Caffeine Content
How Much Caffeine in Drinks -- Coffee, Tea, Soft Drinks -- Caffeine Content
Caffeine Content of Coffee, Tea, Chocolate

Just thought of this Lazy, don't know why i did not think of it before but no dose is a real high dose of caffeine.

What is all this about green tea being a risk for baldness? Never heard this before, would KP like to comment.
It doesn't matter to me as I am bald already, however KP has been recomending widely.

Most of those baldness medications cause ED. When you get ED your junk shrinks. I would rather be bald then have a small dick. Not only that baldness remedies, rogaine and propecia can tank your testosterone levels.

Propecia ? Rogaine ?

What if my testosterone is low ? Will it cause hairloss ? Or if it is too high ?

Which one ? Do you know ?

How old are you Lozan? Does baldness run in the family? As for too much testosterone, this would be something that would be genetic and could lead to hair loss. As for too little testosterone, a simple blood test from your Dr. could put your mind at ease.

So tells us what you heard, what great benefits does it have over green tea. KP has offered great insight into the green tea. I have been drinking as KP has suggested and I think it does have its benefits. One for me, I cut my coffee intake more then half. I now only drive one cup a day on the weekdays and no more then three on weekends.

I find green tea a pleasant change. If white tea is better, please share.

I have had green, red, white and black tea all are good, none produce miracles.
I have cut down coffee intake and feel more relaxed, there are studies showing tea has health benifits. However I haven't seen anything dramatic myself.
I will do blood tests in a couple of days perhaps that will show something.

Lol well I hope it is still red.
The blood fats may be interesting; as I changed to tea at KP suggestion over at betterman.
If it has changed for the better since then, tea may be a factor, as diet, exercise and medication have been much the same.

While I have drunk a great deal of tea lately, most of it has been green only a small % has been white. I can't comment on the other benifits yet but I do think it has had a mellowing effect though perhaps this is because I drink less coffee. This hasn't translated into reduced blood pressure yet though, as I have my own machine and test blood pressure regularly I can say with some certainty. Is there anyone out there who has had reduced blood pressure from tea?

My blood test in a couple of days may show something in terms of blood fats. Didn't get flu this season which is a good result.

KP do you have any comment on olive leaf tea which I have also tried a few times?

You have to take 1000mg of green tea extract or brew as much as ten bags of green tea to have a lowering effect on blood pressure. The amino acid theanine which is in green tea can be bought seperately at a health food store. I think theanine is credited with green teas blood pressure lowering effect. If your blood pressure is already normal from taking blood pressure meds do not take a 1000 mg of green tea the combination of the two can cause hypotension (blood pressure that is to low)

The amino acid taurine is good for essential hypertension helps to lower blood pressure. Taurine may be the way to go for stuborn resistant hypertension. I think it is working for me beings i have been on it for over two months now. My resting pulse has gone from 96-106 to 66. Im thinking blood pressure has also droped as well. but im to damb scared to check it out. I think i will wait another two months.

Another supplement that can lower b lood pressure is "passion flower" It also works to prevent testosterone from convering over to estrogen. I have been taking passion flower for about a month now.

Peg what is your average blood pressure on medications? And are medications helping?

Hmm have not taken 10 cups of tea a day at least not on a regular basis.
It varies a lot from 130/85 to 150/100 , I am already on bp meds, the doc wants to increase dose but I am not keen. At the moment I have no side effects which is the way I want it to stay. Since the downturn, they have been stressing everyone at work which doesn't help.
Have read tea is good for bp but when I asked the supplement people about taurine and passion flower they said both are good for reaxing but neither has a real direct effect on bp. Of course if this is cutting edge they might not have hold of it yet.

The studies on taurine are pretty new, cutting edge. I find some links.

Thank you KP.
I was reading a link you posted earlier and it shows green tea is good for hair loss, too late for me, but of interest to some members.

When I went to the health food store for my green tea I saw they had bilberry tea. has anyone ever tried this? I bought it, and along with the green tea, mixed them with some pomegranate blueberry juice. I pour it over ice. It's freaking awesome.

I'm going to be trying andractim pretty soon. After all I have read about it's use in PE it seems to be one of the most effective substances to apply for gains. Hopefully I won't go bald!!!
