Why do girls lie about being virgins?

Okay, so the very first girl I ever had sex with lied to me about being a virgin. That really pisses me off. Her friends were the ones that told me that she was lying, but I didn't listen, I trusted her. But after being lied to time and time again throughout the relationship I realized how much of a liar this bitch was. She lied about everything, and that's how I eventually broke up with her. She isn't the only girl however, there have been many girls that have lied about being virgins. And one of my female friends (24 yrs old) told me that it's true, that girls lie about it all the time.

So why do you think girls do this? Is it so a guy will try harder to get them? Or is it to look noble? Or is it to trick guys into thinking she's a prize? It pisses me off how these girls lie about something so important.

It depends.
You're either in the 16-24 years of age range or you're in the midwest. Down here in south FL for example girls don't give a crap. But thats why it depends on age and location.

Why is it so important?
Your not a virgin and why does this even come up? Are you only interested in doing virgins? If you are being lied to all the time maybe you need to look in the mirror and take some ownership of this.

Women don't ask men if they are virgins and in this day and age I think it is very hypocritical. Stop asking if she is a virgin and start enjoy her for her. You might just fall in love!

In addition op, it is human nature at certain maturity levels to lash-out verbally or lie when feeling judged or backed into a corner. For whatever reason these girls are feeling judged...are they? Are you judging them? If they told you they were not virgins what would you say? What would you do?

I'm only asking so you can reflect on what you are projecting to cause so many girls to lie about their virginity. If it was only one girl, I would not be asking these question.

Although part of me would like to be a girl's first since I never have been, a virgin is a huge turn-off to me. I don't want a girl who sleeps with anything, but one that likes sex in a relationship...otherwise there's going to be a compatibility issue between us.

It was both, I'm mad because she wasn't a virgin (I was) as stated she was the first girl I had sex with, I would NOT have had sex with her had I known she wasn't a virgin. Also, the lying is pathetic in my opinion, we were both 16 at the time, but still , I don't think it excuses her behavior. I feel like I was robbed by some scam artist.
