Well I must admit I dont really know myself slanker, I am trying hard to work all this out. At first I was going on PIs, thinking that if I was turtling it was a sign I wasnt going to increase. I am having a very hard time gaining, I think its important to try and undertand what we are trying to achieve. There are alot of different theories on why enlargment happens in PE, ranging from deforming the tunica, to causing microtears to causing mitotic division!
Perhaps its is a combination.
Take a look at my chart of the different stress duration rest variables to see what I mean:
https://www.pegym.com/forums/pe-theory/3668-making-sense-pe-factors.html
The deformation theory seems to suggest (or those who advocate it) that the stress/intensity must be fairly high, above a certain threshold for plastic deformation. The duration must be long (Bib would recomment up to 3-4 hours a day) and rest is not needed at all!
The problem I find with this is major turtling and a seeming lack of growth. Granted I didnt stick at this PE approach for long to be sure, but I just had so many negative signs that I couldnt understand how I was going to ever get bigger??
The microtear theory to me would be akin to bodybuilding, hit it with a fair ammount of stress/intensity, BUT you must rest as long as your own body/system/penis requires. Working it again before full recovery and growth would be counterproductive.
Problem here is nobody seems to rest 4-7 days? Is there a reason for this? Maybe because that method doesnt work, maybe its just people dont want to try it.
Mitosis theories are based on a constant gentle stress. Eg extenders. Low stress/intensity, high duration of use (8-12 hrs per day) and no rest!
Again I found the problem here was lack of rest and a build up of negative PIs.
You will notice alot of question marks. I am affraid I dont currently know the answers. I do beleive though I am beginning to see all the different "varaibles and choices" of PE. I think that perhaps lower stress/intensity, fairly low duration, but also not lots of rest days (but still some...and this may be critical) is perhaps the best option for me personally. I think whatever intesnity you choose to stretch at the important points are; WARM UP well not just to prevent injury but to help deform if thats whats happeneing...perhaps the only thing in PE where more is better, time wise, dont burn yourself of course. Also become aware of what you are trying to achieve, the mechanism. If you seem to be gaining with higher intensity strectches then it would seem you are either deforming or causing microtears. But watch your turtlng, if there is no growth and lots of turtling, I would advise lowring intensity!
Good luck and keep me posted!
