Well I know that there are muscles that connect to the penis that you can work and get them stronger but the penis itself does not have muscles in it right?

I am copy and pasting this paragraph off of yahoo answers when I was looking this up.

"The penis is NOT a muscle, it is simply organ tissue, like the tissue of your stomach or liver. The penis will not grow or shrink for excessive use or lack of use because it is not a muscle, the only growth that occurs is from the blood filling the spongy tissue upon erection. Also, since the penis is not a muscle, you can greatly damage the tissue by putting unnecessary pressure on it, such as is the case with the so called "exercises" and such devices as pumps. And once more, just for clarification, the penis is NOT a muscle, it's just organ tissue and skin."

Now I know he is saying that you can't get the penis bigger because it is not a muscle. BUT we can stretch it an get it longer right? Perhaps not thicker but longer?

So question time:
If you stretch it will it get more pencil like and lose it's thickness?
Will the elongated penis be harder to get erections with because it is longer than what you should have?
Can these exercises cause serious damage? (My guess is no because it's just pushing blood through your shaft)

I don't know, perhaps I sound really stupid asking all this but it piqued my curiosity and I decided to come to the place where somebody should be able to shine some insight on this.

Thanks

Well according to the info on this site, penis is 50% smooth muscle. That is the only type of muscle that can actually grow in amount (the others just get stronger but the number of fibres are always the same)

I paste this from wikipedia:

Smooth muscle is a type of non-striated muscle, found within the tunica media layer of large and small arteries and veins, the bladder, uterus, male and female reproductive tracts, gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, the ciliary muscle, and iris of the eye. The glomeruli of the kidneys contain a smooth muscle-like cell called the mesangial cell. Smooth muscle is fundamentally different from skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle in terms of structure, function, excitation-contraction coupling, and mechanism of contraction.

Even if there is no muscle in penis it should still be able to increase in size, since we can stretch our ears and what not, anything not skeletical really.
It's logical it can get longer, but it's logical that it can get wider too. By exerting pressure on the spongy tissue, it tends to stretch outwards, eventually increasing it's volume and voila! thicker penis.
And by the way, many tribes have "penis fashion", either hanging weights or tying a rope around the glans and then tying it around the waist-belt like. They all reproduce, don't they, lol? And I doubt those ropes are really soft and comfortable to wear.

Anyway, imagine the reaction of a society that has never heard of circumcision.

That article attempts to oversimplify the penis while being erroneous at the same time. "The penis is not a muscle so you can't enlarge it"- this statement has been repeated so often that a lot of people believe it without a second thought. It exposes the ignorance of the author on matters of penile anatomy.

The penis is composed of fascia (like the kind that covers muscles), smooth muscle tissue, blood vessels, nerves and ligaments (also like the kind attached to muscles). Its function requires that it be capable of expanding to many times its original size. Knowing this, expanding it a little beyond its normal erectile maximum each time using PE exercises shouldn't be that difficult a concept to accept.

Here are some articles that explain penile anatomy. Feel free to post them in the Yahoo Answers page you visited:

Penis Enlargement Gym - The Penis is a Muscle!

To answer your questions:

Q. If you stretch it will it get more pencil like and lose it's thickness?

A. That shouldn't happen. Since you'll be stretching out the penile tunica (which is responsible for containing the penis itself), you'll actually realize some girth gains while stretching. Note that there are girth specific exercises that you can do as well. The only instance where you'll probably see a decrease in girth from stretching is in cases where the penile function is destroyed (and blood flow inhibited), like what happens to some tribes that hang extremely heavy weights and do all sorts of torturous things to their penises.

Q. Will the elongated penis be harder to get erections with because it is longer than what you should have?

A. Not necessarily, although a larger penis is going to require more bloodflow. That's why it's highly recommended that you do stamina work like kegels, etc. along with your PE exercises.

Q. Can these exercises cause serious damage? (My guess is no because it's just pushing blood through your shaft)

A. You can injure yourself if you perform PE exercises incorrectly. The same case can be made for almost any exercise- PE or not. If you go into PE using moderation and patience, you should be injury free.

SintiyaBalob, welcome to the forum. Interesting post, but doesn't belong in this thread.
So what happened? Did they remove the tumor? Was this the cause of her weight?
Your statement about twinkies and McDonalds was kind of rude if it was a tumor.

That was another one of those off-topic spam posts. It's been moved to the appropriate section.

"The mechanism in which external factors stimulate growth and rearrangement is not yet fully understood. A number of growth factors and neurohumoral agents influence smooth muscle growth and differentiation. The Notch receptor and cell-signaling pathway have been demonstrated to be essential to vasculogenesis and the formation of arteries and veins. The proliferation is implicated in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and is inhibited by nitric oxide." From wikipedia.

Nobody is really an expert on smooth muscle because not much scientific research has been done on its development, and how it can be stimulated for growth (temporary or permanent). Whenever somebody tells you, and that includes doctors, that there is now way to increase the volume of the penis, what they mean is that scientifically there still isn't enough understanding of how the growth of smooth muscle works to be able to tell you from a professional perspective whether penis enlargement is possible. Whenever anybody else tells you that penis enlargement is impossible, well why would you take their word for it if doctors and scientists have limited understanding of how it works.

Why would you reply to a thread from 4 years ago?
