So I read in another forum post somewhere that taking the comfort ring off can help suction - I tried that and now it stays on easily! Is there an issue without using the comfort ring? If so, how can I make the seal work better with it?

Also, is it ok if I'm soft when I slip my dick in and then pump it up?

I have the same one.

I tried it once without the comfort ring. It was too say the least, un-comfort-able. Left me sore and red once I started getting use to more pressure.

It doesn't change the efficiency, likely improves it. You do lose a 1/2 inch or so space inside it. It throughs your measurement scale off. Just keep that in mind. I would not rely on it as a definitive length check anyway. Just use it to monitor your length of growth. It was designed to be used with the ring in mind.

I had the same problem also. The bathmate doesn't work as well as advertised in the shower in a standing position. I simply leave the valve locked, lay down to get it started, as if taking a bath, in then stand, once I have it set.

It is best to be erect or at least partial erect. But, no. It won't hurt anything, Just go slowly and allow your penis to fill with blood and adjust to the pressure before pumping again.

I love mine. Just wish it had a usable pressure gauge. Enjoy!

Thanks Lilnudedude--

so you are saying have it vertical when pumping and getting it set initially? then the comfort ring doesn't' cause a problem? Yes it's a little more irritating without the ring I've noticed, but I feel it does a better job.

No problem, you are very welcome.

Yes, in simple steps:

Fill it with water.
Hold it in place with valve locked.
Carefully lat down without losing water.
With the bathmate pointed up, release the valve lock.
Now pump.
Once it is set, carefully stand back up.

Note, I also lay down again, to re-pump if I have to. I never pump standing up.

Bathmate is a great product. It just seems designed around only an, average, male build. I don't think they figured in for a wide variation. You just have to learn to work around it. That's the only drawback I have had with it.

So what caveat are you specifically referring too?

You don't have to lay down to pump. That seems like too much work. I use it in the shower almost every morning. I recommend having at least a 50% erection. I bend over slightly and bend my penis down into the BM so I don't lose too much water, and then I put it on while pulling my balls out of the way. I also don't use the comfort ring but I might put it back on because at high pressure it can get painful. I definitely noticed it was easier to get suction without the comfort ring when I was learning how to use the BM.

So what's a little extra exercise in the shower?

I agree. Seems ridiculous. But trying to do it standing up is more of hassle in my opinion. Laying down for a moment has never failed me.

But as always, if it isn't broke don't fix it. Whatever works for that individual is the best way to go about anything.

Thanks for all the input guys. The caveat is it works for me without the comfort ring. I noticed the old device had some glue-on pads - they seem like they would work better to ensure an easier seal.

New question: is it ok to use the BM after a j/o session? Usually I hit the shower after I jack it - wondering if it's ok to use the BM afterwards.

Honestly, The verdict is still WAY out on that.

Will cause you any problems? Highly unlikely.

Will it effect how well the pump helps you to grow? Possibly. This is an endless point of contention.

To ejaculate or not to ejaculate before or after PE? This is the endless question. It is generally accepted, as the best and most effective practice to keep ejaculation and PE separated by two to three hours.

Very basic studies performed by a few individuals here at the gym would suggest it can diminish the effects of PE. Others show it is an individual thing with no effect on their gains either way.

The only way to really know is to experiment for yourself. Do three months ejaculate just before, then three month with a couple hours in between, or right after PE.

????? Go for it.

Stray thought: Jerking off would seem to be some sort of a warm up right before using the bathmate. Warm-ups are always recommended before ANY type of exercise to prevent injury.
