Hi, I pretty much made this account just for this question, but I've been lurking awhile and you guys (and girls?) seem to be pretty knowledgeable about all things involving the pelvic floor :
-2 Weeks Ago: Went to the gym for my usual lifts. Wasn't in any pain going there, benched my work set fine. Went to squat rack and did my usual warm up of just the bar for 10 slow reps. Loaded up 135 (1x 45lb plate on each side), which is still 20lbs less than my work set. Almost immediately when I went to squat, maybe 1/4 into the movement, I feel like a weird "stretching" like a bubble is expanding my perineum, right behind my balls and before my ass. I was so dumbfounded by the feeling I froze for a second and said out lout "What the hell is that?". I immediately re-racked the weight and sprinted to the locker room to check for a hernia. Found nothing. Confused, I came back to the squat rack and replaced the 45lb plates with 25's. It happened again. Only this time I also felt what I can only describe as a "tugging" behind my dick, maybe slightly above the pubic bone.
-I gave it a couple days of introspection. From what I could tell, I didn't have a hernia and I wasn't in any pain outside of the gym. Convinced it was a fluke, I came back 2 days after the original event and did the exact same routine: bench and then squat. Went just as heavy benching again, no pain. Went to the squat rack, no pain and no limit in my mobility squatting just the bar (I actually bumped the assists with the bar on the way down). Loaded up 25lbs on each side once again. IT HAPPENS AGAIN! I feel almost entirely a "tugging" pain behind my dick. Re-racked the weight and left.
-1 Week Ago: Gave it a week rest, but I was scared enough that I finally saw a doctor. He thoroughly prodded my groin and perineum and couldn't find any hernia. He suspected either:
Things I just started to consider in the last 3 or 4 days: I've been a chronic masturbator for at least 10 years now, if not longer. I'm a "death grip" kind of guy, too. Spend hours edging without realizing it, usually don't finish because I hate feeling tired afterwards. I've injured my dick before (maybe 6 months ago), and felt a painful "strain" at the base of my penis when I flex it or ejaculated, which kept me away from touching it for a week or two. It mostly healed up (still feel it once in a blue moon), but as soon as it was mostly back to normal I was back to my old habits.
Sometime in the last month, I started noticing it's more and more common to feel this pain during masturbating/occasionally during sex.
The night before the original incident: At one point while changing positions during sex, I felt a "pop" in the base of my penis that made me panic for a few seconds. Didn't feel any pain or anything, so I continued and thought nothing of it.

So what do you think? Is it probably a muscle strain? Prostatitis? Something else?
I've found numerous recent experiences on these forums, but none within the last year and no one ever seems to post a follow-up to explain what happened.
