I think the guy's story is more likely. She would have to get close to cut off his dick. So if he was trying to rape her I doubt she would have the mind and time to grab his dick and go for the cut lol. More likely they were together and she grabbed a hold and bam, cut it off.

Good call guys, I was expecting something very smashed, bloody, definately something uglier looking than what was shown. It lookes like a rubber or latex job. Way too clean and healthy looking. Should be brown or purple or some god awful color.

It just doesn't seem that plausible in general. It's not like she has a broadsword or even a hunting knife in the story, it's a pocket knife, so she would have likely had to get a grip on the guy's dick before doing the cutting to get enough force to cut anything off. If anything it would probably be a chunk taken off and not a surgical removal of the genitals at the pelvis as shown in the picture. Not sure how easy it's going to be to get a handle on the guys penis in that scenario at all, but then again there is this video:
