I have always wondered if porn contributes to driving drunk?

Original post...
This is not to be provocative but I do wonder how much sites like this and other anti-porn sites actually contribute to porn induced ED.

There's been a surge of articles as well as websites warning of the dangers of porn in the last few years. So a lot of guys have been subjected to this information. But more often than not it is far from being just educational, the message is aggravated by claims that porn makes you impotent and damages your brain. Nearly comparable to the olden days where guys were scared off from masturbation by claiming it caused blindness etc.

So if we are also starting to see a surge of porn induced ED, could it not be largely due to the anti-porn agenda itself? I am sure there's a lot of guys who have been watching porn without problems but are now having problems merely because they are being told that porn is supposedly as harmful as smoking.

Porn itself isn't bad, it's the over use of porn that is.

Do you think those commercials against drunk driving make more people go out and drink and drive?

I can't really relate to the porn induced ED debate because by the time that porn was so readily/easily available, I was all grown up, married etc.

For me and others my age and older, access to porn when getting in to that period of adolescence and upwards - it was really limited to maybe some porn mags that had been found or nicked from someones parents/older siblings 'stash' or maybe some poor quality video tape etc.

Being able to just open a device or PC and just have access to whatever you desired was just not an option...If it were, I'm sure that the same problems would have arisen...we're all human after all (apart from Wishful10x8 - obviously)

In my experience, when information filters through to the media, it tends to be over-dramatized to a certain degree. They want web hits or papers sold, so they sensationalize things. Too much of anything is going to imbalance you in some way, to some extent - porn, booze, smoking, exercise, sugar, salt etc etc endless list.

I don't know if being told not to watch porn could possibly give you ED...I suppose it would depend on how suggestible you felt. If you feel like watching porn sometimes, just watch porn, you're an adult. If you find that you are constantly watching porn all day, erryday, then that's not 'healthy' either and I can see how that could potentially lead to ED but I'm sceptical being told not to watch porn could lead to ED.

Just my 'tuppence worth

I was aware that PIED existed for many years, but never had a problem even though I consumed porn SO HEAVILY every single day.

Then I spent about 18 months with basically zero sex... but tons and tons of porn. Lo and behold, things weren't quite the same when I returned to the bedroom. Took a lot more stimulation than before, and my penis forgot the feel of a woman. I never had full-blown ED from it, but the difference was apparent. After eliminating porn, things are returning to normal.

Some get hooked due to a predisposition to addictive behaviors, while others use it as a form of escape or "relationship alternative".

Well , I guess I'm addicted to responding to threads on Pegym. This is not healthy. Help 😵😵😵LOL . On a serious note , I can understand Pegym members who are against Pornography . Even against Visual Stimulation edging. I can honestly say I understand their standpoint. Like Big AL input on another thread. There are a large # of Men substituting real connection with Females for a Fantasy with a screen. There in lays your problem.

You shouldn't be so damn driven for this PMO that you deny a healthy lifestyle within itself. I don't personally watch hardcorepornography xxxporn but do use Visual Stimulation Edging & have successfully done imagination edging. I have things to do , kids to raise , a Wife and priorities have to be put in place.
When members advocate staying away from Pornography they are trying to help you avoid that BEAST that's going to jump on your back & ride you like a pony. Hardcore Pornography will diminish & disensitize your mind. Leading you down a dark path. I am glad I wasn't a youngbuck when this high speed internet came around. I had my Hustler , Playboy magazine and my VCR with VHS tapes that I ripped the tape trying to take them out before getting caught. Internet Porn is a Plague & one should not have that much access to SMUT. OF COURSE you can loose yourself with that stuff ,binge watching for 4 hrs straight videos after videos. It's like a drunk killing a 5th of brandy except you kill those Dopamine receptors.

If you know that you know you cannot control , limit , or go days , without Pornography than you are addicted. I applaud members here who try & help Men get their minds right. Having a healthy relationship with your Woman
Should always TRUMP (LOL) things unimportant. I do use Visual Stimulation ( twerk Videos )when Edging for Stamina Training . It in no way shape or form takes precedence over my responsibilities in life and damn sure doesn't come before getting laid by my Wife.

Hardcorepornography xxxporn Raise's your Dopamine to UNGODLY levels that actually having Sex with a Female doesn't replicate & cannot replicate. I've experimented with Audio Edging , Imagination , & Visual but not through yet with my timed experimant and AUDIO is the hardest to keep away a PONR . Just a still image & a Female moaning & groaning for dear life.
You add that with Visual Penetration and good freakin GRIEF. Just understanding what XXXPORN does to your DOPAMINE receptors & how precious they are should keep you away from Penetrating Pornography.

OP switching your post question, and then acting like responses don't match your question is pretty bush league. Good luck with the rest of the answers you receive.

Just get a blocker add-on for chrome, firefox or whatever you use. Have it block all the most well-known websites, as well as 'trigger' websites.

EDIT: I use it, put whole rows of porn websites on the blocker. Also, one huge thing for me was tumblr. So much porn, and because it's pictures and gifs it's easy to spend an hour or more there. So I just blocked that one, plus a few others.

Having that extra step to calm you down really helps. In the past 6 months I've watched porn maybe 10 times, and it's not binge-watching either.

After my divorce, I suffered from PIED or ED... or something that kept me from getting an erection with women. I was also on an anti-depressant for a while and my doc failed to tell me that causes ED. Ouch. However, even after getting off that and getting on c1alis (for an enlarged prostate, to prevent frequent night time urination), per info from my pharmacist, I still had lots of difficulty. It was better, but previously I could only achieve maybe a 50% erection. It could have been the overuse of porn, my divorce, stress, my higher protein diet along with less activity (so I could bulk up at the gym), sex toy overuse that desensitized me, etc. But porn is well known to cause feelings of "shame" or otherwise other feelings of inadequacy when you psychologically compare yourself to men with perfect bodies and well, perfect cocks. The result: ED. If you can get it up without issue yourself when masturbating that usually indicates you don't have a cardiovascular problem, generally, I think, but there may be a psychological element or an element of it just being too worn out if you're masturbating a lot to rise to the occasion when you get into a "normal" stimulation from a woman. NoFap.com is one of the big sites that advocate ridding yourself of the toxic use of porn and it's detrimental side effects.

Whatever the case, and YMMV, I was able to reverse PIED/ED by stopping that behavior within probably 10 - 20 days I was able to get and keep and erection long enough for sex and orgasm. I previously could get an erection initially but was not able to keep it long enough for sex. It was an incredibly humbling and shocking feeling going through that experience. I am committed and determined to reverse my previous toxic behavior not just for the health of my sexual life, but because porn is also a huge waste of time. There's just simply nothing good or helpful about it IMO. The sexual "techniques" are not realistic. The camera angles, lighting, and the fact that they place men with very petite women only magnifies the size of the men, adding to your feelings of inadequacy and has affected the ability of many, many men to perform sexually with an actual woman. I hope to never return to that lifestyle and I'm determined to also increase the size of my own cock to enhance my own confidence with women.

The reality is that other men hit the gym, eat right and look better physically and it sets a new standard for women to look at it. She will without doubt compare us to other men that get ripped in the gym and honestly just look amazing. Fifty years ago that wasn't the case as much, but now, fit men are everywhere. It's a new standard of excellence. The same goes for men's cock sizes. If women have been with men with larger cocks and they really enjoy it, we as men have a new standard to which we have to attain if we are to be looked at favorably. It's a harsh reality, and it takes work. We just have to man up and get it done if we want to attract the women we want. Of course, there's always the love angle, and women are without doubt mysterious when it comes to the type of men they fall for. But, if we're having any issues with PIED or ED, well, that's certainly a factor in your ability to please/keep a woman. Sex is a major player when it comes to women's satisfaction.

Nope, edited the post after mentioning that no-one answered on the actual question. Especially after Cups's response that you liked.

Would you mind explaining how:
"Do you think those commercials against drunk driving make more people go out and drink and drive?"

Even relates? That's the same as asking if I think that anti-porn campaign makes more people to go and watch porn? Regardless the answer, what was the point of that?

If we want real solutions to our issues we must learn to be objective!

In cases of abuse leading up to ED, porn isn't a "cause" but a catalyst.

Another analogy: In cases of abuse leading up to obesity and diabetes, sugar isn't a "cause" but a catalyst.

The key word above is abuse. There are numerous men who view porn and don't have any perceived sexual problems, but if one has an addictive personality perhaps compounded by other issues like social withdrawal then from an objective and responsible perspective the best thing in this case would be to avoid porn.
