Anyone found a quick release strap that fits a size genetics?

I'm giving my size genetics another try and would like to try it with a quick release strap (like the one in the Total Man Video linked below). I can only find ones that are 1 inch or more wide and the largest I can get through the slots is about 2 centimeters. Has anyone found where to buy a less wide strap with a metal quick release? I tried trimming down a 1 inch wide strap but the fabric just fell apart altogether. I tried velcro and could not get a tight enough fit with it. Thank you!

Have you looked at the sewing or DIY section in major stores? Walmart, Home depot, etc?
