I got into ball stretching a couple of years ago, and everything that`s been said so far is true. I`ve tried leather, silicone, and steel. Raptor is spot on - if you have a sedentary job, then stretching is difficult. I can now get a comfortable 4 inches of stretch. What I find most comfortable is using silicone stretchers with a leather over the top to stop them overlapping. I can also get 4 inches of steel, which weighs 4.5 pounds, but that`s just too heavy for longer than 30 minutes. With the silicone and leather I can just about get five inches. To get further I`m going to need more time and dedication than I have, so I`ll read about rbi`s jelqing with interest. The problem is that when it`s cold, the lads still climb up out of sight, though in warmer weather I have a significantly better hang.
If you go for weights, it`s critical to get the right internal size, and there was an article by Jarod on the Secret Leather site which gave a guide on how to get the right measurement. Incidentally, he also reckons you need to get 6 inches of hang before the lads will stay hanging.
My wife isn`t that into the stretching, and she made the point that raptor makes above - the greater the hang, the smaller the pecker looks - which is what got me into PE in the first place. I still keep at the weights to some extent, but not enough to get that further inch, I don`t think.
