It seems most people edge after their workout instead of before it - the logic being that during your workout you stretch the cells in your penis and whatnot, and then when you edge you keep as much blood in your penis as possible for an extended period of time, keeping the cells in that "stretched state" (basically, there's more blood in your penis than normal, and your penis will eventually grow to accommodate the extra blood). At least that's my understanding of it.
