Q. I’ve just started with the Squeeze for my girth workouts and I’ve gotta say I love em!

I’m doing the recommended 70 percent average but I feel I can do much more. Can I try a higher erection for this?

Al: You can use a higher level of erection to make the Squeezes more intense, but you have to be careful with this- since the degree of force needed to manipulated a higher erection increases almost exponentially. If you don’t have the necessary conditioning, you might find the higher erection Squeeze LESS efficient.

Q. You had stated that for jelqs, I should be holding one hand at the base so the skin doesn’t move up with the jelq.

However, isn’t it preferable to start from as far back of the penis as possible? And if I hold that base, I that means I have to start further ahead?

How about instead of holding the base, I just use more lube so that when I’m jelqing, it’s not actually moving up the skin?

Al: You’re correct in that you should be getting the stroking hand as deep into the base as possible. This may require you hold back skin with the other hand and spread your fingers enough to allow the stroking hand to get the proper range of motion.

You can also try using more (thick) lube. IMO, this is preferable as it simplifies the exercise. Please let me know how it goes if you decide to try this.

Q. Why is it that I feel the Squeezes better for me for girth than jelqing even if I use about the same level of EQ?

Aren’t they both for girth?

Al: The Squeeze is considered to be a girth-direct exercise, whereas the jelq is an exercise which can be used for a variety of functions. That being said, even the Squeeze can yield some degree of length gains since the tunica is being expanded. Some have also commented on EQ improvement using Squeezes, though the [light] jelqs are, IMO, better for contributing to more blood flow.

Q. I was wondering if any other members have experienced emotional breakthroughs with their training. Not so much about size but about confidence. Maybe it’s because I’m older, but I recently have hit a place in my life where I’m beyond caring about whether or not I’m good enough for someone. I’m doing this for ME, and if someone likes it then great! If not, the loss is theirs. It’s funny but when I embraced this viewpoint I feel like a weight has been lifted, and sex is actually fun again!

Al: Few things are as satisfying as observing someone having an epiphany moment! A person can come to the realization that the thing they feared was a creation of their own minds. It can be a step closer to learning how to put the ego in its place.

Emotional Visualizations are good for this, but true self-examination is necessary for this to be effective.

Q. I’m having a hard time keeping a 70% erection as instructed for my Squeezes. As soon as I start, my erection slowly declines after several reps and I need to stop to get the erection back. How do I counter this?

Al: Let’s say you’re targeting 70% average for Squeezes. You’ll induce an 80% erection then start the exercise- and continue it until you’re erection drops to 60%. This will give you a good range to work through and that 70% average.

Q. You mention altering the jelq exercise to target more length or more girth. So if I use a lower erection and less lube, it targets length, and more lube and erection targets girth? Is this so?

Al: Regarding the jelq: Correct on both counts. With less lube and erection, the exercise becomes more of a sliding stretch/length movement; whereas with more of an erection and lube it becomes more of a compression/girth movement.

With the higher erection/more lube variant, you’ll also want to slow donw the cadence for each rep slightly.

Q. I’m been hanging with the BIB Hanger but am honestly just concerned about the blood pooling in the glans at heavier weight at longer periods

because regardless of the wrapping the device is very “clunky” and pulls the skin down no matter what. But… I’m finally feeling the stretch in the ligs so I’ll just keep working on the placement over the next few sessions. 🙂

Al: Are you making sure to retract the skin away from the glans before securing the wrap?

If necessary, use an extra layer of padding- but it’s important you take measures to not strangulate your penis. Even in the best of cases, with a BIB style hanger one must regularly remove it to allow for full restoration of circulation. You might try more padding to see if this helps, but if not- look into the vacuum type hangers- like the LG Hanger.

That’s why performing Erect Kegels in between hanging sets is helpful. Not only does it restore full circulation, but it also allows one to make what would ordinarily be a mere rest period into time-saving, productive training.

Q. I started to do Erect Kegels and I have to say that I was not able to make 5 clean erect kegels

only 1 barely making the 2nd. It did not feel great and I was only able to get 65%-75% erect, as in barely enough to penetrate, with a curve downwards.

The Start & Stop was a disaster as well as I could only do 100 secs of stimulation on the 1st start & stop and past that my balls shriveled up so bad that I became too tense to even feel a sensation and became flaccid quite quickly after that. When it became flaccid it was so hard to get erect again that I thought that there’s not really a point of forcing this as I think it should be enjoyable and not forced at all.

Al: I can understand your frustration with the difficulty of the exercises, but it’s important to understand that training is merely a tool towards your goals. If you’re not proficient at t performing the exercises you will be, given time. It’s VITAL you do what you can to accept this so as to not allow emotions like frustration or anger affect your performance.

Keep attempting the Erect Kegels- even if you can only hold each rep for 1-2 seconds. We’ll stay at the 5 or less reps count until you can perform all 5 reps with at least a 90% erection. Important! Only contract as hard as you need to to accomplish the rep- and no more!

You may have induced more blood into the genital area via your activities which is why you may have noted more fullness. This could be the case especially if arousal is involved.

The same goes for Stop and Starts. With this exercise, you can take up to 10 “stops” if you need to, but try to hit the 5 minute mark in your next session.

Be sure to practice your Emotional Visualizations exercises BEFORE you even get started with your training! This will encourage the best possible emotional backdrop for your training and will maximize the ease of the process.

Q. In your 3×20 routine you mention doing Kegels during the breaks in between sets.

What’s the advantage of this over doing them after the hanging?

Al: The Kegels in between sets are meant to act as an antagonist to the stretching- creating a “push/pull” effect*. There’s also the efficiency factor. It’s recommended you take a break in between hanging sets to restore full circulation, so if you can that and take care of other aspects of your training, you save time.

Q. What is the purpose for starting a workout using Emotional Visualizations?

Al: The Emotional Visualizations serve the purpose of dispelling emotions inappropriate to the scenario (e.g.- anxiety, apathy, etc.) and replacing them with, at the very least, a feeling of neutrality. Optimally, you should be inducing a feeling of confidence and relaxed joy to effect the best response. This will allow you to set the tone to extract much more out of the sensations you’re experiencing- which leads to a better kinesthetic sense during training. As you get better as inducing the desired emotions, you’ll learn to transcend limitations placed by your own [initial] mental reservations.

Q. Up until now I haven’t been doing any sort of stamina exercise…

[Editor’s Note: This refers to Kegels and edging and may also include outside activities like cardiovascular training], and I think this could be why I’m not making gains. Getting erections is easy for me but maintaining them past a few minutes is hard. What should I do?

Al: It can’t be stressed enough that- for as long as you’re pursuing enlargement- you should be attempting to get your Erection Quality (EQ) as high as you can get it. This rule applies even if your sexual prowess is satisfactory. Few factors are more important for inducing maximum tissue stretch and recovery than high EQ.

This doesn’t even cover the other benefits of stamina work- which include greater penis strength and health, as well as ejaculatory control. One can even develop the ability to become multiorgasmic, as discussed in the Master Your Orgasms exercise.

In your case, including Kegels and Stop and Starts immediately after your enlargement work should work well. You should also take care to do what you can outside of male enhancement training to induce better EQ, and nothing beats cardiovascular exercise for this purpose.

Q. I’m very new to training but want to add more to accelerate growth.

In the past few weeks I’ve bought a pump and an extender. I can also train all day if needed. Where do I start?

Al: Training is very much a scientific experiment you’re performing upon yourself to discover what works best, and as with all good experiments, you’ll want to avoid changing too many variables at one time before we have enough data and time to note changes.

We recommend all visitors to the site as well as beginners in training to START HERE.

Q. Hi Al. When I train it’s good for a couple of weeks, then I see to lose all EQ. I just can’t seem to tolerate training more than 2 or 3 weeks before EQ crashes.

What am I doing wrong?

Al: To ensure you’re training in a way where you can maintain longer momentum, this is what we want: at the beginning of a cycle, your training volume and intensity should be as such to where your initial performances are well within your comfort zone. As the cycle progresses, your EQ and conditioning should continue to improve. It’s not until you get to the final week of the cycle where you should begin to note a plateau.

Training in the above manner will ensure you can keep training for weeks in an ever increasing manner.

Q. I’m getting ready to start on your 3×20 hanging program for hanging but want to make sure I get the most of of my hanging.

What can I do to make the hang more intense?

Al: Propping your feet up, leaning back, etc. are methods for making the stretch more intense, but higher intensity isn’t what you need at this time. For now, let’s use the standard seated off the edge of the chair without any adjustments as the baseline.

Should you desire to increase intensity in the future, we know easily how to now do so.

Q: What is EQ and how do I measure it?

Al: Erection Quality is a combined measure of stamina AND hardness.
A 0 would be complete impotence whereas a 10 would be YOUR ideal standard of stamina and hardness. You can use whatever standard you like to gauge EQ: workout performance, sexual activity, or even an average of it all- as long as it’s consistent.

A 7 is typically considered just hard enough for penetration, but still flexible.

Q. How come I’m really struggling with the idea of trusting emotional visualization to get erect.

Doing the exercises isn’t an issue for me but how I get erect direct is and I’m concerned about that.

Al: The above is the very reason you should practice Emotional Visualizations. Your struggling and concern are the items sought to be mastered with the exercise. The EV is where you learn to let go of struggles and concerns. Doing this during training will help you to develop a foundation which transfers over to sexual confidence and performance. Practiced individually and widely, it can also help to place sex into its proper context into people’s lives.

It may sound as if I’m overblowing the effects of the EV, but the benefits from and skills learned from that exercise will be of immense value to you!

Q. Thank you for recommending the kegels! I am noticing a difference in hardness and waking up at night with hard ons after one week.

You recommended starting off with 5 reps, but I felt I could do more, so I am adding 5 every day. I am up to 15 reps but it’s getting harder to do them now! What do you recommend that I do now with the reps?

Al: For the kegels- or any other exercise- you need to take care not to force your limits just yet! The reasoning behind this involves training momentum. If you pace your progress, you’ll be able to train for MUCH longer in a progressive manner. If you force a peak in your training too soon you’ll burn out very quickly (no training momentum).

The Kegels usually doesn’t lend itself to very rapid rep increases from an established baseline. I’d recommend you back off to ~10 reps or so and resume adding one rep per session. When you get to 20 resp total, add 2 reps per session.

Q. I have the opposite problem of a lot of guys…

When I train I get too erect for exercises too easily, especially girth exercises. What can I do to counter this?

Al: When you start on your girth exercise, choose an erection level ~10% LOWER than your goal. For the sake of simplicity, let’s use 70% as the target, so you’ll start with an erection level of 60%. Train until your erection gets to ~10% HIGHER than your goal (80%). This will ensure you more or less get the erect level average you need.

You may also try performing length work before girth work. Intense length work can tire the penis out temporarily. This could be the optimal time to perform girth work in your case- since you’ll be less inclined to getting over-erect.

Q. I try to do good with all of my exercises but my performance of the Stop and Starts is terrible!

The times in between my stops are erratic. I also have to stop and even let my penis get flaccid to get the necessary time added each workout. Is this OK?

Al: Unlike the directive given for the other exercises, the form for the Stop and Starts takes a backseat to the time from start to finish. This means even if you need to pause, allow your erection to diminish, etc.- the initial milestone for this exercise should be to get to 20-25 minutes from start to finish. Once this has taken place, we won’t need to concern ourselves with time and we can focus on the aspects of hardness and ejaculatory control.

Taking the above into account, don’t worry about timing your stops- only on timing from start to finish.

Q. Is it a good idea to have sex after training?

Al: If you’re referring to male enhancement training- and you have no negative issues like performance anxiety or low EQ, then sex after training can be a great way to finish off your workout. This also applies to manual edging- e.g.: Stop and Starts.

Q1. I’ve worked up to hanging 15 pounds for over an hour…

…but I haven’t seen any growth in months. What is it I’m doing wrong?

Al: It needs to be understood that training using enlargement specific exercises isn’t quite like other forms of bodily training. The exercises, reps, etc. are all incidental to quality tissue stretch.

It’s best to think of your enlargement training as something more akin to flexibility training than resistance training. Working up to 15 lbs of weight is only good if it’s a byproduct of growth, meaning the routine you performed yielded gains so you added more weight.

Did you make gains earlier in your routine?

Q2. I did make some gains…

and the workouts were more enjoyable. I’m also sore after each workout. This is probably not a good sign?

Al: This is not a good sign! You shouldn’t be feeling anything more than a mild soreness which dissipates in 24 hours or less.

You’d be well advised to go back to a lighter weight and do your best to focus on what you’re feeling with your hanging. Taking mental focus out of the equation with passive forms of training like hanging is easy, so really doing what you can to ensure quality maximum tissue stretch each session without pain or strain should be the goal.

You’ll know you’re on the right track when your penis appears elongated without being exhausted after your sessions, and (of course) by observing growth- which should be noted once every two weeks when you measure.

Your gains will also be greatly accelerated if you’re improving EQ as well.

Q. What do you think of the supplement Tongkat Ali?

I’ve read a lot of good things about how using it can increase testosterone and recovery.

Al: My own personal experience- I can’t say I felt much of anything with the brand and dose used. From what I’ve observed with clients who’ve taken it, it didn’t appear to do much, if anything. That being said, you should still perform your own research and even experimentation.

Here are a few threads on the subject:

Q. I’ve heard good things about using L-Arginine to help boost erection quality.

How and when is a good time to take it?

Al: Take ~5 g of L-Arginine 15-30 minutes prior to sexual activity or training. You wouldn’t have to take it any other time unless you’re performing physical training.

Q. The pump I have is close to my current erection size and I’m worried it’s too small.

After a few minutes of pumping my penis begins to expand and sticks to the inside of the tube. What should I do?

Al: It’s a good idea to start with a pump that’s one inch larger in circumference than your current erect girth.

When you begin filling the sides of the tube after some time in session you’ll need to move to a second staging pump. You should also apply a pump-friendly lube to your penis before starting to ensure it doesn’t stick in the pump.

If you’re very close to or are filling the sides of the tube soon after the start of the session or right from the start then the STARTER cylinder used needs to be upgraded to a larger size.

Q. Hey Al! I’m just starting out and wanted to make sure not to overdo things…

Is there a way to tell if I’m starting off at the right level of force for the exercises?

Al: When starting ANY new exercise, err on the side of caution with force. The first few sessions are meant to develop a level of equilibrium and master the form of the exercise. From there, force is added SLOWLY, over time. At no time should bruises, pain, excess soreness and the like be considered good for progress.

For more details on this, please review the following: Please Read First.

Q. I’ve been doing male enhancement for 3 weeks now and have noticed my penis is a lot veinier and harder than before!…

I’m worried about problems with my veins though. Do I have anything to worry about with this?

Al: Regarding veins, you should be noting more vascularity as your conditioning improves. What you want to watch out for are any painful swellings or bruises- as this is a sign of overwork or even abuse.

Q. With the Jelq Free routine I noticed the reps for the Side to Sides can be as high as 2000!…

What if I don’t want to train with such high reps?

Al: Even if you were an advanced trainer, you wouldn’t start with high reps in your first sessions- as you’ll need to test the exercise first.

The reps don’t necessarily have to increase indefinitely if you can upgrade to more intense exercises- provided you benefit from this.
